I’m travelling to Ghana to help link St Francis Strood with St Andrew’s Church Bobikuma and St Andrew’s Church Cape Coast.

My friends and hosts in Ghana earlier this year will be back to Accra fairly soon. A stash of theology books are en route already which will help build and strengthen the Anglican Church in the Diocese of Cape Coast.

Im blessed with very generous friends who donated money earlier in the year when I went to Ghana. That generosity has paid for the theology books en route, and the remaining £200 will be used to buy much-needed local language bibles.

Well - the bags are unpacked, the washing is on and I’m back to the office tomorrow. Whilst this trip is completed - the work is ongoing!

The baggage is checked in and I’ll be saying my farewells to my Ghanaian Mum and Dad, Janet and Kobina Kumi-Mensah. I’m going to miss my drinking partner, Kobina very much. Red wine and barbecued guineafowl with such great company!

Those who I have met on this trip are so very grateful for the support of their churches here in Ghana. I’m simply one connection; one ambassador from St Francis Strood - but the love poured out is testament to more than my visit. Much to share. Much to do.

Around 27 hours left here in Ghana. I’m already looking forward to my return. The friendship, generosity and love I have received is completely overwhelming - and I know that I am truly blessed. #GodIsGood #AllTheTime #Everywhere

@Ladyofkent I need to do some planning on this but I can probably ship books to one of my new friends over here who I hope to get some good ideas from as to titles, authors. William Barclay will def be a popular choice. I think John Stott’s books would be well received.

It isn’t just supporting the construction of St Andrew’s, Greenhill. It’s also about supporting priests in their ministry, and congregations in their knowledge of Christ. Priests need commentaries and theology books. A number of people need bibles - especially in local language.

And seminaries need support too with theological books of all kinds. They also need pens and decent notebooks - these are comparatively expensive here - especially for theology students and priests.

Final whole day on Ghana - one more sleep before I return to the UK. I’ve had a wonderful time here, learning much and meeting many. I’m already planning a return visit - there is still plenty of work in this part of the Lord’s vineyard we are called to support.

The goats and cattle are “free range” here in Ghana. Free to range across the road if they feel like it, too! 🤣
