Official account of the Centre for Science Studies (CSS) at Lancaster University. Supporting #STS research across the boundaries of science, technology & policy
We're happy to announce that CSS is involved in a new cross-institutional network: STSMN -- Science and Technology Studies in the Midlands and North. The network is convening its first open event in June exploring our collective relationships to STS https://t.co/jFzD6UfaW1
The STSMN network also involves collaborations with the BioBody Research Network at the Univ. of Leeds, and with @NottmSTS & @UoY_SATSU. You do not have to be at one of the five STSMN institutions to join the workshop. Registration is free but places are limited
So exciting to be exploring #NuclearFutures this evening, in an event to mark the culmination of a series organised by Louise Elstow & Jade Li and featuring contributions by @thejackdawspen & Petra Tijske Kalshoven - including discussion of 1980s radioactive whelks! ☢️🐚
Excellent and thought-provoking recap from the workshop yesterday.
We will continue building on these disussions/ and debates around doing interdisciplinary STS further in the workshop today.
Thank you so much @Ola_Michalec
⏰ There is still time to register for our two-day online workshop ‘How to do STS?’! ⭐️ Are you a social science PGR or ECR researcher working with STS methods or theory? This event could of interest to you: https://t.co/PlPIlGH3ZG

Read "Human-machine reconfigurations" by Lucy Suchman (2007) and it's one of the best books I've read in quite a while. Crisp and clear analysis of the socio-material reconfigurations of Human-Machine (#robot) relations. This one I will keep and refer to a lot!
