I think people underestimate how much of a luxury it is to genuinely like your normal day. Not the holiday. Not the birthday. No the reservation. Literally Mondays or Wednesdays.

i got a great-paying job in mid-august. the pay was so good that the money i sent my mum from my first salary made her cry and pray for me.
today, it’s october. i’ve been laid off from that job, and i’ve laid my mum at the morgue back home.
how are you doing today?
We need a nation where ordinary work can produce a decent life.
A cleaner or security guard should be able to afford a decent car, live in a decent home, access quality healthcare, and provide their children with quality education.
A decent life should not be a luxury reserved for the wealthy. It should be the reward for honest work.
You people are not even married but you’re already in imaginary wars and bickering with spouses that you’ve not met. It’s mental illness but you don’t know it yet.
You see, I have always been interested in the things that people permit themselves to do after they have decided that God agrees with them. A man will cheat a widow and sleep peacefully because he attended church on Sunday and left a hefty tithe.
Public speaking is actually really easy if you don’t respect a single soul in that room. I’ve had an incredibly easy time delivering speeches when I hated everybody I saw and they all thought I did amazing bc my disdain was read as confidence ( this is not a tip though )
On this international day of the girl child, I choose to remember Ochanya Ogbanje, a girl who lost her life in 2018 at age 13 after being ràped for five straight years by her uncle and his son Andrew and Victor Ogbuja.
Ochanya developed a vesicovaginal fistula and was leaking urine and poop till she finally passed on on the 17th of October, 2018.
Today, a whole eight years later, her abusers walk as free men. The world might be silent about Ochanya’s case and getting her justice but we will never forget her story.
I wish to God that does men meet very horrible ends.
May Ochanya continue to rest in peace with God.
