@beatrismouse@tiff_tv Yes; chassis 034, which Villeneuve drove to victory in Canada 1978. It belonged to Nick Mason when we did the test, which was for a tribute feature in ‘Autosport’ magazine commemorating the tenth anniversary of Gilles’ death
.@tiff_tv this came out of the attic the other day and I thought you might like to see it. Elfie knew no fear - check out his reflection on your helmet!
T'was a fun, if rather cold, day.
Marking the 48th anniversary of Niki Lauda’s remarkable comeback at Monza with an unashamed plug for my book ‘Both Sides of the Barrier’.
As a big fan of his from the time I first saw him race in ‘72, the book includes many photos I took of him on my humble Kodak Instamatic 📷
Thrilled and delighted that David Tremayne has seen fit to give my book 'Both Sides of the Barrier' such a fabulous review!
Herewith is the article, published in his excellent @grandprixplus ezine #383 and reproduced with his permission, which should be legible when expanded
@tiff_tv Hello, chap. Saw this on FB and as I don’t recall seeing it before thought I’d show it to you in case you haven’t either. Looks like 1979 in the Chevron B41?
Bizarre things you never thought would happen, part 81: finding myself at Shelsley Walsh looking at a book full of photos I took on the camera I’ve brought along to its first motorsport event since the 1977 British GP 😳
Hello, everyone! 😊
I’m delighted to inform you that volume one of my book ‘Both Sides of the Barrier’ is now available to pre-order.

This is the front cover of a book I was asked to write late last year. It will feature a lot of my Kodak Instamatic images taken throughout the 1970s when I was a kid, up to later years when I had a better camera and was working within the sport. There will also be some words!
Remembering boyhood hero Peter Gethin, who left us twelve years ago today, with images of his finest career moment, at Monza in 1971
Lap 55 of the Italian GP, only Parabolica left to go, one more push under braking, Ronnie makes a small mistake and victory was his 🏆

Remembering two-time Grand Prix winner Jo Siffert, a hero of my youth, who lost his life fifty-two years ago today during the non-championship Victory Race at Brands Hatch
‘@MBrundleF1 I distinctly remember having similar thoughts about the visibility of the Lotus 72s when their new-for-1972 JPS livery was unveiled at the back end of ‘71 👀
Love the back of the rear wing. This new low weight carbon finish is becoming very prevalent in F1, weight limit drops by 2kgs this year and most teams were struggling before, but this car will be hard to see on TV or trackside on an overcast day.
@ianfrance91@PeterDanaher Indeed I have, Ian. Great, isn’t it! It very nearly made the reprinted version of the book a few years ago, but I had to drop it due to space constraints. Same old story, huh? 🤷🏼♂️
