@dottymurf It's not aiming to contribute to anything. I can only set my inclusion criteria to include all "biological females as assigned at birth" (language chosen to include both gender critical & gender affirmative people) and encourage anyone who fits those criteria to participate.🤷
Looking for participants in my study. Inclusion criteria below.
Interview-based research aims to understand how biologically female survivors of intimate partner sexual abuse perceive their own 'sex' & 'gender' & that of others.

Trauma Informed Care is not “Tell me all about your trauma” or “what happened to you?”
Trauma Informed Care is assuming that everyone carries trauma and being sensitive to how that may affect them.
You don’t need to know what the trauma is to be trauma informed.
If we want to end domestic abuse, we need to stop romanticising controlling behaviour.
🚫Jealousy is not ‘romantic’
🚫Obsession is not ‘flattering’
🚫Possession is not ‘passion’
🚫Surveillance is not ‘affection’
Our lives depend on interrupting these unquestioned narratives.

@TheEmmelineMay @FierceMum I do want to speak to trans men and non binary people too, yes. And if you got in touch to say that you met the inclusion criteria but you hated the phrasing of it, I’d say: “Great! Please discuss that with me on the interview as that’s the whole point.”
🚨 CALL FOR INTERVIEW PARTICIPANTS 🚨
✅ Biologically female?
✅ 18+?
✅ Experienced intimate partner sexual abuse?
✅ Abuse occurred 3+ years ago?
✅ Have capacity to consent?
Researcher wants to know YOUR perceptions of 'sex' & 'gender'.
💻 Email: [email protected]
@TheEmmelineMay @FierceMum I imagine my discussion section will be largely centred around that! 😂
Thankfully, some participants have seen past the difficulty of terminology choice and have participated anyway. Here’s for hoping a few more will follow! 🤞🏻
@sueveneer@Muttmere1 No problem. No obligation to share!
I only hope that *both* GA & GC participants realize that the whole point of the study is to discuss 'sex' & 'gender', & that they are welcome to take issue with the phrasing of the inclusion criteria in the interview, for whatever reason. 😊
As per @womensaid's excellent RIF sets out, survivors of #domesticabuse are not a homogenous group of ppl & so likely do not have homogenous views RE: 'sex' & 'gender'.
Please share this call for participants so that a range of views can be collected.

What do women in abusive relationships need more than anything? Support. Make time to listen and, above all, don't judge or minimise if someone is telling you that they're being made to feel unsafe, or unworthy. #wednesdaythought
