Just another random old guy? Nope. Author, freelance writer, screenwriter, poet, book reviewer, editor, mediocre harmonica player. See also @grumblecore.
How many of you had movie projects killed by Covid? Producers were gearing up two of my scripts for production in India when the pandemic shut things down. Had a well-known director attached to one. Oh well. Guess I'll dust off a few scripts & start again.
@emmabo I get wistful about the 85-cent plate lunches I used to be able to buy when I was in college (in 1966). Hamburger steak, mash potatoes, gravy, minuscule salad with French dressing, cornbread, or dinner roll. (I also get wistful for the 20-cent-a-gallon gas.)
The new lesson is here, and this is one of my favorites! 😁 We'll learn about functions, variables, and signatures!
Functions are critical in Haskell. They're the backbone of the entire language! Luckily, they're not hard to learn! Let's dive in! 💪

@ElenaWeinberg A good survey might reveal that 5 out of 4 contest script readers are highly biased against anything that seems better to them than one of their own screenplays.😑
In case you’re under the impression that filmmaking-wise everything goes perfectly for me every time: got my rejection from TSL Free Screenplay contest today regardless of submitting an updated version of Sunset Lanes that got high marks but didn’t place last time 🥲
@GareRick On the same day we heard that Bruce Willis's acting career had been ended by aphasia, we watched "Die Hard" for the umpteenth time. (At my house, we watch a lot of movies, and it seldom matters how old or new they are.)
@adrianmckinty Life & work have kept getting in the way of reading for personal pleasure. But I recently picked up a copy of "The Chain" & wow, I'm hooked. Excellent work, Mr. McKinty.
