​"Come down, I have a tune in my head," he said. Gulzar had no choice but to comply.
​Once Gulzar was in the car, Pancham played a few notes and turned to him. "Put words to this tune, otherwise I'll lose track of it." A little uncomfortable but left with no other option, Gulzar began filling words to the melody. Pancham just kept pouring out more tunes, and Gulzar kept matching them with lyrics.
​The car cruised briskly through the empty roads of Mumbai all through the night. By the time they finished, the night was already knocking on the door of dawn. So we can't really blame her.

But I wish we are able to solve the problem of patient capital - the kind that cares more about innovation instead of the ROI.

In 2015, 3 billionaires (Elon Musk, Peter Thiel and Reid Hoffman) plus a few millionaires committed $1B to an AI research company.

Its goal was not to generate the most ROI but to "advance digital intelligence in the way that is most likely to benefit humanity as a whole".

That's just what 4 billionaires were able to do.

India has 250+ billionaires.

We just need a few of them to take these moonshot bets to make a difference.

People are not leaving India because they hate India.

They are leaving because they are tired.

Tired of paying high taxes and getting dirty streets in return. Tired of garbage on roads, overflowing drains, poor civic management, and endless excuses from those in power.

The internet has changed everything. Indians can now see how taxpayers are treated in other countries. They can see clean cities, strict enforcement, accountability, and basic respect for public spaces.

That is why many of India's highest taxpayers, skilled professionals, entrepreneurs, and young talent are choosing to build their future elsewhere.

The real tragedy is that people are losing faith that things will ever improve.

Clean cities do not require rocket science. They require intent, enforcement, and accountability.

If governments cannot ensure clean streets, enforce civic discipline, and provide basic quality of life, they should stop asking why people are leaving and start asking why people no longer believe staying is worth it.
