Can complex information survive catastrophic damage in a form that stays unreadable for centuries, until the tools catch up? The Vesuvius Challenge says yes. That logic is the one cryonics has always depended on. My new essay is on The Biostasis Standard: https://t.co/tszKlFpIdl
Coverage of our physician study about cryopreservation
Neurosurgeons estimate a 72% median estimated probability of revival (sample size is small, but still pretty crazy)

It was great to meet @matiroy in person after all these years. It's rare to meet someone who cares about effective brain preservation as much as I do. He's also archived all our interactions so in the future if I am reconstructed his recordings will help with all that.
✨Important update: 312 neuroscientists were surveyed, and they assigned substantial probability to long-term memories only depending on static brain structure preservable by modern brain preservation techniques (!!!)

I missed my flight to SFO even though I was in the airport because I was too deeply engrossed in thought about personal identity, I’m now on the plane to LAX and will hopefully be in Berkeley soon.
I'm going to be publishing a number of articles explaining my viewpoints in great detail on why I am still signed up for cryopreservation rather than chemopreservation. I am going to be challenging the chemopreservation views, not because I think they are wrong, but it's because they might right! I have invested so much of my life into biostasis that I need to know what I am doing and supporting makes snse.
It's too early to say the longevity field has failed, people have only been attempting to cure aging for slightly over a decade and funding levels are still low. I mean, I think at this current rate of progress I'm going to end up in a Dewar and the only way I don't end up in a Dewar is Replacement, but who knows, maybe the longevity field might actually help delay the end. Maybe reprogramming or other things work and it's not all cope/delusion.
Apparently I’m inadvertently on the height mog program since I give my kids an egg and milk almost everyday? I do track my kids macros at least somewhat and prioritize their protein.
ngl it is quite insane how the CCP had a 'heightmog the Japanese' program launched in the early 2000s that's still ongoing and the result is the median height of Chinese teenagers went up by like 10cm
Before Keanu Reeves became a Hollywood star, he worked as a reporter for CBC and covered a teddy bear convention in 1984.
The footage somehow makes him even more likable.
At what threshold of non-human users would you consider leaving a social media platform? Like would you be fine spending your time online with mostly bots?
The USA is the wealthiest country in the world and spends 3-4x more on healthcare than any other high-income country, yet it has a life expectancy that's 3-4 years lower
Many people blame the high rates of obesity and a highly processed diet for this, but the truth is a lot more nuanced than that⬇️⬇️
1&3. Women also discuss being on team sticc or team thicc amongst ourselves and I’ve always been on team sticc and people ask my husband if he’s on ozempic and he says no, he just hates eating.
@dear_kxtie These comments are really harsh. There’s lots of Asian girls who don’t know how to wear makeup and can really benefit from an events like this. Although I’m not American and probably lean towards original Chinese girl aesthetic.
