The legendary acoustic set was recorded a few weeks prior on April 10, 1996, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Majestic Theatre, NY. It served as the band's first concert in 2.5 years.
Rita Moreno performing "Fever" on the Muppet Show with Animal on drums which originally aired almost 50 years ago in the UK on September 12, 1976 and in New York on September 20, 1976 which earned her a Primetime Emmy Award.
Bassist Tim Commerford confessed that at first he thought "Like a Stone" was a romantic song and only understood the real meaning when Cornell explained it! It was the second single from Audioslave's debut album and became the band's biggest hit: #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock and Modern Rock charts, #31 on the Hot 100 and is, to date, the most streamed track of Chris Cornell's entire career (over 1 billion plays on Spotify).
The video, directed by Meiert Avis, was shot at Jimi Hendrix's former mansion in Los Angeles, the same place where Hendrix composed "Purple Haze"!
On This Day— Audioslave’s second studio album, “Out of Exile,” was officially released on May 23, 2005 (internationally) and May 24, 2005 (in the US.)
It became the band’s only #1 album on the Billboard 200 chart.
