@IanRunkle Magnesium should be fairly easy to source? It is sold as fire starters after all. The sodium is a bit more of a challenge. You might look into NurdRage's video on the process of making metallic sodium using menthol.
@ABC7 Can we please talk about how disgusting it is that all the ballots are not counted on election day? The incompetents running the voting systems have completely destroyed any faith voters had in the accuracy of these elections.
@mattvanswol@libsoftiktok Losing the midterms allows the GOP to pretend to be the opposition party for fundraising reasons and to try to wash their hands of any responsibility for all the failures of government.
The uniparty wins again.
@ovisburner@USDA We did it to protect ourselves and they dropped the ball on this agreement. Just like they have with the drug cartels and illegals.
It is not isolationist to say that these countries should be embarrassed we have to save them over and over again. If anything we should annex them
@mominnocal@ovisburner@USDA So that is your take away from the USA eradicating a pest in other countries and then those other countries failing to keep up with their responsibilities for long term control?
I am sure you support the USA just taking over those countries instead to solve the problem, right?🤣
@ovisburner@USDA Lets talk about how embarrassing it is that none of the central american countries or Mexico did anything to stop this on their own... Kinda ridiculous that the USA has to keep solving the rest of the world's problems again and again.
@USDA Time for massive penalties and sanctions against Mexico and the other central american countries that failed to stop the northward spread of this pest!
@dgreen7230@mercoglianos You are now hallucinating things I never said... Do you "have no idea how much stuff costs" or are you going to break down the costs here since you are claiming it "doesn't seem exorbitant at all"?
As far as I am aware the ship time costs are funded by the NSF ARF funds not OOI.
@dgreen7230@mercoglianos You are not doing a great job of making your case by just stating I am wrong without anything to back up your statements.
Are you saying it is impossible to run the existing infrastructure on the $8m per year budget? That is $1.6m per site. Please break down the costs for me.
@EHRhodes1863@mercoglianos Again...Do you think that the NSF OOI program could not keep its sensors and instruments that it already has running with the $8m/per year the budget gave them?
If not, what specific costs are there that are not covered by an $1.6m per year budget to run each monitoring site?
@EHRhodes1863@mercoglianos Do you think that the NSF OOI program could not keep its sensors and instruments that it already has running with the $8m/per year the budget gave them?
You seem very upset about things that are not the current topic. Lets stick to NSF and OOI related stuff, please.
@szetoinsitu@mercoglianos Costs more money to remove them than to leave them and operate on the $8m/yr budget they were given when all those costs you mention were already paid for. NSF has a history of acting out in ways they were not ordered to so they generate sympathetic news stories when they want $.
@EHRhodes1863@mercoglianos Why does that cost nearly $40m a year? I have serious doubts that the sensors or instruments cost even 10% of that total budget. It is costing NSF more money to remove things than to just leave them where they are. This is a political ploy by a bloated program for public sympathy
@AJazzmom98@YourAnonNews@JessIsAStar1 The translation is: "We have too much administrative staff bloat to run this simple monitoring program on the $8 million budget so we are spending more money than it would cost to leave it in the ocean to make headlines and upset the useful idiots for our partner groups."
