My old neighbor left me a box after she died, and honestly, I almost threw it away.

She was this quiet woman who lived two doors from me. We weren’t best friends, but I checked on her sometimes, especially when she got sick.

After her funeral, her daughter came back from Canada and asked me to keep a small blue box for her.

When she finally opened it, there were old pictures, receipts, and a handwritten note with my name on it.

Her mother had written about something I had completely forgotten.
