London, 1914: the leaders of the radical women's rights movement are fugitives from the law. Their last line of defence is the secret society of Amazons ...
@DrJohnSkutlin @SatanicTv@LaCarmina Would your audience be interested in a presentation of phantasmagoric props from early-mid 20th century "ghost shows" and seances?
Suffragettes who were specially trained in jujutsu- what more could you want on a Sunday morning?? 🥷👩🏫
Very pleased my story on the Battle of Glasgow got a double page in @scotonsunday today ☺️
Big thanks to author Tony Wolf and @natlibscot#buyapaper
@Cass_Frances_ @WhoresofYore Helena Bonham Carter's character was partially inspired by Edith Garrud. She was actually named "Edith Ellyn" in her honor and there's a short self-defense training scene in the movie.
@estebanm I came across your website a while ago. I'm afraid that I'm not familiar with this type of game, but I'm really glad that our site was useful to you!
Year 3 Creative Arts Week is about People Who Changed the World. They had a wonderful time at the Little Angel Theatre @LittleATheatre today where they saw #Suffrajitsu, a fun #play about how one small person can make a big difference, with lots of cool Jiu-Jitsu moves too!
@AlasdairStuart@BBolander Just for clarity, you're probably thinking of our companion website (https://t.co/9ZarBOoBbj) which includes a number of articles on the real history that inspired our story, including Sandwina.
@TheMuseumOfSoho@BBCTwo Also the subject of our 2015 graphic novel trilogy "Suffrajitsu: Mrs. Pankhurst's Amazons" - https://t.co/9ZarBOoBbj - and the indie documentary "No Man Shall Protect Us" - https://t.co/CnId28x8Ry.
@drunkhistory Plugging our graphic novel trilogy "Suffrajitsu: Mrs. Pankhurst's Amazons", which includes several of the same incidents and and historical figures featured in this episode!
@john_lawther @drunkhistory The radical WSPU (Emmeline Pankhurst's militant organization in the UK) proudly embraced the term "suffragettes" and used it to distinguish themselves from the more staid, law-abiding "suffragists". They even named their newspaper "The Suffragette".
@The_Corpsie @kirstymhall @RedwoodGirl@RooKay3 @royaltheartist Here's a new, free 50 minute documentary on the secret society of suffragette bodyguards: https://t.co/CnId28x8Ry.
Written and co-produced/directed by Suffrajitsu author Tony Wolf, the new documentary "No Man Shall Protect Us" is now freely available via Vimeo: https://t.co/CnId28x8Ry
