I feel very happy to share that the FIVB–KIIT–KISS Centre of Excellence for Volleyball at KIIT has been elevated to an International Centre of Excellence for Volleyball and Beach Volleyball by FIVB.
This announcement was made at the FIVB Headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, in the presence of FIVB President Dr Fabio Azevedo and the FIVB leadership.
This is a proud moment for KIIT, KISS, Odisha and India. What started as a centre to support Indian volleyball players will now become a global platform for players, coaches and sports professionals from different countries. It will also give international athletes the opportunity to study at KIIT and KISS while receiving world-class volleyball and beach volleyball training.
I am thankful to Dr Fabio Azevedo and the entire FIVB leadership for their trust and encouragement.
My dream is to see India represented in Volleyball and Beach Volleyball at the Olympic Games. I believe this International Centre of Excellence will help us identify, train and prepare young talents for the future, including our long-term aim towards Brisbane Olympics 2032.

As part of KIIT’s Cultural Heritage Tour, Bhutanese students, accompanied by the International Relations Office (IRO) team, visited the Buddhist heritage sites of Lalitgiri, Ratnagiri, and Udayagiri.
The visit helped students connect with Odisha’s rich Buddhist legacy, with Lalitgiri highlighting early Buddhist history, Ratnagiri showcasing monastic learning and stone carvings, and Udayagiri offering insights into ancient monastic life. Adding a spiritual dimension, students participated in a sacred ceremony dedicated to Guru Padmasambhava at Udayagiri.
They also interacted with Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) officials, gaining insights into conservation efforts. The visit proved to be a meaningful experience, strengthening students’ understanding of Buddhism and their cultural connection with Odisha.
The International Relations Office (IRO) of KIIT, organised the Participation Certificate Ceremony for the Global Immersion Program (GIP) 2025 to recognise students who completed international exposure programs.
In 2025, 75 KIIT students participated in global learning experiences at leading universities in the USA, Singapore, Dubai, and Germany, gaining valuable academic insights and cross-cultural exposure.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates and appreciation for the students’ dedication, as well as the efforts of the faculty and coordinators who made the program a success.
