Here we go, my new web-based NES emulator, which should run in any browser with a decent JS engine (Chrome), and plays a majority of well known games. Thanks so much to everyone who helped making this a reality!! <3

@exQUIZitely@KuittinenPetri - but there are plenty of other versions of Tetris that look and play fantastic. Something like TGM2 is absolutely an all-timer
I think there's no lack of video games that are truly ageless, I don't think it's a rare category at all. But Tetris IS special
@exQUIZitely@KuittinenPetri If graphics serve their purpose they aged well!
If you look at the first version of Tetris (the NES game is the, like.. 10th or 15th at least?) it doesn't look or play that nicely either - and even the NES version has a lot of other control quirks that IMO does make it feel dated
@ID_AA_Carmack@arcade_1up@Project2501_117 Man, referring to Joust's video memory and registers as a "frame buffer" seems really misleading. But I guess I know what you were going for
@LimitedRunGames Could you at least include the artwork originally created for this collection as a reversible cover?
Otherwise, what a missed opportunity...
@joshp827464@pcgamer Well that's what they keep doing, isn't it?
Pretty much every new generation they keep releasing the same old games yet *again*, to sell us the same stuff over and over - using emulation, nonetheless
@csubagio@georgebsocial@mossmouth Even if you do - and really good 4k crt filters do exist - you'd still just end up with a really good *picture of a crt*. It's still very different from seeing the actual physical tube screen.
A good example is curvature, a curved screen doesn't look like a curved image
@Master0fHyrule@kitosan Same, and I was the prime age group too.
I feel like "across the world" is not just a massive hyperbole, but a pretty substantial lie
@KayinNasaki@EvilHouseSplat It's okay to enjoy Mega Man, but there's a limit to how much you can care about the lore before you require some self examination 😅
@Cromwelp lol, I've played through FF6 at least like 5 times without using a guide, and I have no idea what this is even about :P
Must have missed it and had no problem progressing
@BeatEmUpsGuy Absolutely A!
I think the other two makes the system more complex without necessarily adding depth.
Bmups are mostly about crowd controls, and the game's few combo variations should exist only to affect how you handle other foes trying to attack you.
@Rollychan13 @potemki11 On PS1, a higher horizontal resolution didn't mean a different aspect ratio - so pixels would be slimmer and speed *should* be adjusted to compensate.
Using a wider aspect doesn't mean you should compensate any movement speed, that really depends more on the overall game dynamic
