@UrbanKaoboy@robinbrooks_j I'm not sure I understand the logic here. At least in the Econ 101 framing, the only reason demand declines in the US is due to higher prices (supply curve shifts up) which by definition isn't deflationary.
@dampedspring@BobEUnlimited Isn't the Import Price chart from FRED in USD? And therefore, if import prices are rising, it offsets the falling dollar? Said differently, foreign exporters now need more dollars to stay whole in their local currency since the dollars are worth less.
@UrbanKaoboy@profstonge Not sure that is the right narrative on investment. Looks like it can mostly be explained as a surge in wholesaler inventories in March (import offset) and aircraft.
