I’ve been sent this story no less than 65 times and while I’m 98% certain it’s fake it’s so, so good. Here are the details:

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Mia Collins, 26, was arrested Saturday after/allegedly slashing all4 26 tires on her doubles partner’s 2024 Audi Q5 following a quarterfinal loss at the Scottsdale Pickleball Open.

Collins and partner Ashley Pemberton, 31, were eliminated 11-4, 11-7 by a father-son duo in the 4.0 mixed bracket. According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, Collins refused the post-match paddle tap and screamed “YOU FOOT-FAULTED ON EVERY SERVE” before storming off the court.

Per the arrest report:

- Collins used an $11 box cutter from the Bell Bank Park pro shop
- All 4 tires on the Audi were punctured between matches at 2:14 p.m.
- She also keyed the words “LEARN TO DINK” into the driver’s side fender
- A Stanley tumbler full of pre-workout was emptied through the moonroof
- Collins posted a Reel 12 minutes later captioned “released the toxicity”
- A tournament marshal witnessed her arrange 5 cracked pickleballs across the hood

Detective Howard Mancuso said Collins told arresting officers Pemberton stacked wrong on every third point” and “didn’t deserve to drive home.

“She left a Post-it on the windshield,” Pemberton confirmed. “It said ‘your third shot drop is a hate crime’ with a broken heart emoji.”

The flattened Audi declined to comment, citing structural disappointment.

Collins faces charges of criminal mischief, vandalism, and disorderly conduct. She has been banned from all USA Pickleball sanctioned events for 36 months.

She lost the match, the friend, the ride.
The only thing winning was the rage inside.
