And if you are indeed getting dropped frames at 8K bitrate, make sure you have at least 2K of overhead in upload from your ISP, so 10K for streaming at 8K

x264 'very slow' is still the GOAT of compressed video, but heavy CPU usage = separate streaming PC, which moots the point for this discussion

Also, anyone can stream at 1440p or even 2160p (4K), the only limiting factor is bitrate, and as you said, even 1440p looks like ass at 6K
It looks better at 8K, about as good as 1080p at 6K

6000 is the max w/ guaranteed transcodes for Affiliates and lower, tho they can use 8000 but might not get transcodes depending on server load
