Does your baby coo or hum themself to sleep? If so, you aren’t alone.
Listen closely to this darling little one, shared to IG by lexalynn225, as she begins to float off to sleep.
Her soft vocalizations are an expression of contentment.
In this case, Mom’s gentle back rub is almost certainly a contributing factor - but don’t be surprised to hear these types of self-soothing sounds even when your baby is not in physical contact.
These repetitive sounds create soothing vibrations for your baby that help to calm them to sleep.
What a treat to hear them.
In a new letter, Sen. Elizabeth Warren is demanding answers from the General Services Administration on the "serious consequences" of Trump's "unprecedented" refusal to complete required transition agreements.
No prior president-elect has refused to sign these agreements. https://t.co/bZ7U2pIJfj
I’m listening to Republican strategist Sarah Longwell on NPR talking about public opinion of Trump’s tyrannical posture and she just said:
“When I ask voters in focus groups if they think Donald Trump is an authoritarian, the #1 response by far is, ‘what’s an authoritarian?’”
From colleague @holmeslybrand: The Philadelphia Police Department told CNN they were not aware what Trump was referring to and did not know of any issues with voting that required a law enforcement response.
Today, this 94 year old Korean War veteran (and lifelong Republican) hobbled into the voting booth, crossed party lines and voted for democracy. The very same democracy he fought for 75 years ago. Thank you, Dad! ❤️ You’ve always been my hero!
@davidlitt That feels so awesome, doesn't it?!?! In 2018, I texted an Arizona woman - both she and her husband hadn't received their mail in ballots - 17 MINUTES before the deadline to request a replacement. I waited while she called to get them to make sure she got the request in in time.
@davidlitt I just talked to a guy who didn’t know he and his wife were registered! Told him where to go and he was like “oh great, we’ll go right now! Wasn’t gonna vote.”
Love it.
Just hit that point on the doors when I began to wonder if everyone’s either voted or not home when I knocked on the door of a voter who didn’t realize she had to vote before work or she’d miss it. Registered two weeks ago. Just cast her first ever ballot, for Harris. Lfg.
Hey everybody, you can sign up to make sure that voters whose ballots are set aside because of issues like this know and can fix it - to make sure every vote is counted.

Someone says this every election, but long lines and three hour waits do not represent the beauty of democracy. They are the negation of it. The number of polling places in our cities is a shame, a sin, and a scandal. (h/t @EdgeofSports for the reminder today)
“Both sides suck!”
Sure. I hear ya. But if we decide to have another kid, I don’t want my wife to die in childbirth like a fuckin pilgrim. So I voted democrat
