Unfortunately, Hideki Sato, the hardware designer behind SEGA’s consoles, has passed away at the age of 77.

Sato was widely known as the father of SEGA hardware. He and his team were responsible for the design and production of nearly every SEGA console released throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

He also played a role in several Sonic titles, serving as Executive Producer and Executive Director on Sonic Adventure 1, Sonic Adventure 2, and Sonic Advance.
