A Ukrainian posted on Instagram that her mom has managed to escape from Oleshky, Kherson region.
Here is what that person wrote:
"A week ago, my 67-year-old mother made the decision to leave the blockaded city of Oleshky on foot.
All these years, she refused to leave because she loved that town—or rather, what was left of it.
Since 2022, she had been taking care of stray animals, sheltering nearly 30 dogs and cats. In recent months, she worried more about what they would eat than about feeding herself.
But the dogs and cats started disappearing right from the yard.
Because people have nothing to eat.
During the occupation, my mother:
Lost our apartment due to a direct hit.
Lost her husband's house to the flood caused by the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (and miraculously survived back then).
Lost my grandmother's second house to a drone strike a week and a half ago (she was inside and miraculously survived again).
Yet months of starvation (everything written about people surviving in Oleshky is an understatement) forced her to choose: fear or life.
She chose life and took the risk.
She walked more than 20 km on mined roads, where cars and people are constantly targeted by drones. Then, for a week, using various means, she made her way out of the occupied area and reached Kyiv today.
I still can't quite believe that she made it ❤️"

Millions of people around the world rely on Ukrainian food exports. Yet Russia is deliberately attacking fields, storage facilities, ports and vessels that help Ukrainian food reach global markets.
Despite constant danger, Ukrainian farmers continue to sow and harvest.
Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s food and the infrastructure that carries it to the world must end. Protecting global food security means protecting these supply routes and holding Russia accountable for its crimes.
Russia struck a SCHOOL with a Shahed.
A SCHOOL.
I want the world to hear this clearly: russia struck a school.
And this is happening again , for the second time in just a few days.
On September 29, russia struck a school in Sumy with a guided aerial bomb while children were there.
Today, October 1, a russian drone struck a school in Kyiv. Children were in the shelter.
I don’t know how much longer we can hold out like this. Every time, it feels like we have no strength left. But there is no other option. So many people have no option to move to safer places—far away from this madness war. How much longer?

Today, October 1, Ukraine honors its Defenders. 🇺🇦
The people thanks to whom we wake up in the morning, hug our children, make plans, and simply live.
Thank you to every man and woman who stands in defense of our country. To those fighting on the front lines. To those who have returned home. And to those who will forever remain in our hearts and in our ranks. 🕯️
May every Ukrainian defender return home safely to those who love them and are waiting for them.
Thank you for protecting Ukraine and all of us. 💙💛
Glory to Ukraine! 🇺🇦
- russian Lavrov:
"I have no doubt, that this is a war that Europe is waging against us. We’ve been making this point for a long time now.”
🤦♀️🤡
..............
No army has crossed its national borders. Only the Russians have launched a full-scale invasion of a neighboring state; despite being called upon multiple times to halt their aggression, they continue to ignore these demands.
Europe is waging war? Logic has died.🙈
Furthermore, Ukraine is acting in accordance with Article 51—the right to self-defense.
So?🤷♀️
Thank you to the 🇫🇮 football fans & @Palloliitto for taking a clear stand and supporting a democratic Belarus.
The dictator’s day will indeed come, when he is held accountable for aggression against 🇺🇦 & for the terrible crimes committed against the Belarusian people.

@Dmitro7607 Hi Dmitro! I'm following you (though have not seen your posts). But now I noticed someone pretending to be you, because this African account "loveandlight4e" suddenly started following me. I thought you should know.
Everyone, be careful and check. Report.
🇷🇺 “We don't bomb civilians” is out.
“We’re bombing Kyiv to save lives” is in.
Direct quote:
“So the bad news is that we’re shelling civilian targets. That’s kind of not really our style. And the good news is that it’s being done to save civilian lives.”
— Russian ‘political philosopher’ Alexander Kazakov

The "Russia is not my enemy" was a great campaign in terms of research. By scraping all these posts, analyzing their followers, and turning it into a visualization, we now have a very good and clear image of the pro-Kremlin network operating on this platform.
With the recent wave of bots declaring that Russia is not their enemy, I feel compelled to again share my collection of stories of real people who thought the same, moved there, and found out the hard way. 🧵
