@Khlovert_ops@CoolioUncle same thing happens in Call of Duty for textures to reduce the games file size. As you play Warzone the game is constantly downloading high resolution textures as you render the map and weapons. Also goes for skins/cosmetics
@Khlovert_ops@CoolioUncle ohh ok. Streaming if I can explain it simply is the idea of downloading skins/cosmetics when you see them. Like Fortnite as a game is so massive (NPI) now that they removed assets from the games storage and instead incentivises you to download them as you see them in game

Having the assets pre-downloaded is way better which allows assets to come from storage instead of just streamed from the internet. Also with streaming it can tank people's network ping if using over the air wifi networks. Just takes storage
@hypertune_ better way is not to set it globally but as a program setting, setting a game to use max performance is a better choice then letting your gpu run at max when idle
