“Nothing changed at all, it’s like that part in horror movies where the monster finally reveals themselves just in time for the big chase.”
Another step closer, fanged grin widening.
“It’s also to show you just how close I was, and am.”
Illyana grinned once he was startled, her hands behind her back with a carefree vibe about her.
“I’ve been following you at least a few minutes before I called you. Sooooo, a long time. Why?”
She takes a slow step forward.
“ ah— you! how did you— ”
he stopped, frowning into the darkness at the other, but instinctively taking a step back.
“ how long did you wait before this dramatic reveal? ”
“Looking over your shoulder only makes sense if you think I’ll be behind you.”
She replied, suddenly a few feet in front of him, walking backwards while she faced him.
eyes wide and alert, he pursed his lips as he looked around.
nothing. hm…
he continued walking, at a brisk pace and ready to run if necessary.
“ this is absurd… looking over your shoulder… ” he mumbled.
That would be the only time she’ll use magic, after all, the rules were that she couldn’t use it to catch him. Altering the environment should be fair game- but she won’t over do it.
Watching him peer at the sky, she jumped to another roof, closing the distance.
“what do yo— ” the line went dead and he huffed, pausing mid-step.
“ huh. ” he watched as the weather changed, unnaturally. “ alright then. so be it… ”
“Babes, I’ve already started~”
She purred before hanging up the phone, whispering a small spell that pulled forth clouds, obscuring the moon and its light.
