Portland Museum of Art & Maine Art Education Association have collaborated to bring National Youth Art Month to Maine. We would like to congratulate Brynn Vogel who will be included in this years exhibition from 3/1-4/2 at PMA & digitally on PMA's website.
GMS 4-5 students have been making different types of snowflakes using paper cutting techniques along with marshmallow and toothpick creations for a welcoming bulletin board display!
On Wednesday, February 8th GHS educators led and attended mini-workshops to expand their understanding of various relevant topics, which spanned a range of subjects and skill sets.
Three Seniors (Charlotte T, Connor A, and Lauren D) have been collaborating with the Steward of the Cumberland Chebeague Land Trust on a SILO course. The students have worked on a variety of projects with the land trust (including environmental book readings for children).

GHS students (Eva D, Mai LK, Christopher G, Adele W, and Celio F) are now State Winners of the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Competition. They were awarded $14,500 in technology for the district and are now competing to be National Finalists. Congratulations!
GHS STEM teacher Darren Bridgewater shows MSAD 51 Board members equipment used in one of the STEM labs during "School Board Goes Back to School" tour hosted by GHS Principal Karl Francis this week. This was last of 4 school tours Board members have participated in this winter.

Stopped in to check out the 1960 Presidential Debate between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon taking place in Katie Cassesse's 5th grade Gifted/Talented class last week. Students spoke on behalf of their candidate in a debate style format.

GMS 4-5 Math Class Students had a Valentine's Day assignment. The connection? Here's the assignment: 1. The design on the outside MUST be half the width of the card itself. 2. The design on the inside MUST have at least 2 images, and one MUST be 3 times greater than the other.
