Boss called a team meeting to "make an example of her."

She stood up and said: "My mom is in chemo. I was on the phone with her nurse. It went 1 minute over. I clocked it. I wasn't hiding it."

Boss said: "Rules are rules."

She took off her badge, set it on the table and said: "Then find someone who will follow them when their mom is dying. I won't."

She walked out. Half of us were crying. He just stood there.
