@NIHRresearch funded study exploring the experiences & training needs of homecare workers supporting people with advanced illness in the last months of life.
Are you a homecare worker with experience of supporting people living with dementia and carers who live at a distance from one another? If you have experience in providing this kind of support, please consider taking part in this new research project
Our Supported study has been exploring the experiences, training and support needs of homecare workers supporting people approaching end-of-life. For information about what we found, see our end of study video - https://t.co/umJGMKzjUV
New publication from our Supported study of homecare at end of life presents an analysis of end-of-life care policy, highlighting the many gaps in respect of the critical role of homecare https://t.co/K7Pkk9fOj6

We have been very quiet recently, but excited to report that we have been meeting with colleagues in Hull, Sheffield, London & Australia to discuss research findings and developing training resources to support homecare workers at end-of-life. #socialcare

(1/4) Great to see evidence of innovation designed to support overseas care workers. Individuals who have come to the UK via the Health & Care Worker Visa scheme are at risk of exploitation by unscrupulous employers: https://t.co/jocp4mwn4S

New paper from our SUPPORTED study of homecare at end-of-life. Findings from a rapid review of homecare @ EOL. Key findings - HCWs provide support in complex situations & emotionally demanding situations, yet can be isolated and under-valued within the wider care team #socialcare
Homecare workers - do you work 'in a bubble' & with only a 'breadcrumb trail' of notes and information to connect you to colleagues? See below for information about @RachelKelso12's work to bring together homecare workers for support & to get a place at the policy table ⬇️
This is a powerful demonstration of the importance #homecare. We are researching experiences of homecare workers at end of life (& this really resonates!). If you are a homecare worker providing EOL care in #Hull#Bradford or #Bromley do get in touch at [email protected]
Participants articulate gratitude in five ways: (1) appreciating others; (2) love; (3) need to reciprocate; (4) appreciating the little things; (5) solace amid serious illness #hpm#hapc https://t.co/zx01KR7YLu
