In turn, Walnut, looking baffled, turned to look where the other two were.
".....
Oh, that looks. Bad. I don't like that. I can't put my finger on why."
The dummy chatters its jaw, but does little else.
Ted throws a tin can at the window in protest.
"I'll take your word for it, if you're friends..." Shaw's tone was almost disinterested as he kept staring at 'Ted', raising an eyebrow upon realizing he was the only one giving the odd eye.
He would eventually stare at where the other focused on, towards that strange dummy.
"Ted is my assistant! He isn't 'a bit off'."
Ted is every bit as harmless as he looks, despite the apparent haunting of the teddy bear in question.
However, he doesn't meet Shaw's gaze, instead staring down the dummy who seems to slowly be looking Shaw's way.
"Or your worst enemy's best friend... Hey, kid. You wouldn't be hanging around dolls that act a bit off, would you?"
Shaw conveniently fails to judge them for it, but he does aim a stare at the second party poking out.
"Cursed dolls can be your best friend! Or your worst enemy.
Or your best friend's worst enemy, which is double your worst enemy."
Junior Sleuth Ted is poking out of Walnut's backpack, anxiously staring at a ventriloquist dummy in nearby window that looks like it eats fingers.
There’s not a single person at the M.E.H. today who isn’t at least a /little/ stirred.
She thought it was bad enough, trying to calm her dad down from whatever he dreamed about last night, but even Honeychip seems ro be jittery…
Did everyone but her have nightmares?
Meanwhile, Walnut seems to be compiling notes from her own recent (mercifully unrelated to ANYTHING) case in the Honey Principality.
“Why do I feel like tonight’s going to be one of those awkward nights?”
.. Instinctively trying to protect Walnut ( by smothering her in a hug ) from the water now because they took her comment about walnut shells to heart—
With a dramatic SIGH, she flops over Dark Choco's shoulder, letting her limbs dangle. It's only upon seeing Dark Choco's sunny demeanor that Almond concedes.
A big ol' smile is on their face now, as water drips down .. and an even heartier laugh escapes them. It wasn't even one of their brief chuckles, either.
They're not sure when was the last time they allowed themself to. There shan't be any perishing.
