This is same in most of the famous temples. This difference must end. You can’t expect unity and brotherhood in a religion if the rich and powerful receive pampered treatment at temples while ordinary devotees are treated like an inconvenience.

I understand that the sheer number of devotees makes it difficult to give everyone ample time, but things can still be managed with dignity, through better crowd management, token or time-slot systems, clearly marked queues, and strict enforcement of the same rules for everyone. Saying that the gareeb, dalit, pichhada, and adivasi have the first rights over the country’s resources is as problematic as saying minorities have the first right.

Nobody has a first right. Resources belong to the State, and the State is supposed to treat everyone equally (Article 14). Even the preferences the State gives to certain groups, by bypassing Article 14, such as reservations, are welfare measures, not inherent rights. The same has been held by the Supreme Court many times.

Yogi is among the rare CMs running a large, complex state toward development, with no appeasement, no reckless freebie culture, and zero tolerance toward extremism and organised crime. While other states proudly market cash doles and monthly handouts as “development models,” even the so-called DMK development model runs Ladli Behna–type cash schemes, yet UP has resisted that temptation so far. What the future holds, I don’t know. Pressure politics exists, especially if Akhilesh starts dangling promises, but till now, UP has held the line.

Yes, democracy forces you to perform a few symbolic rituals you may personally dislike. That’s the price of electoral politics. But symbolism is not governance, and optics are not law and order.

If Yogi goes and Akhilesh returns, UP regresses straight back ten years: an era where the state bent before Azam Khan, Mukhtar Ansari, and Atiq Ahmed were power centres, organised crime thrived, police stations were ornamental, and appeasement was state policy. Don't let it happen.

A few days ago, three unrelated people were found dead inside a Tata Tiago on the Peeragarhi flyover in Delhi. There were no signs of forced entry, struggle, or injury. Initially, it was suspected to be suicide.

As the police dug deeper, CCTV footage revealed that a fourth person, an elderly man, had been inside the car earlier. Call records and further analysis identified a tantrik, Kariumddin, as the mastermind.

He had lured the three victims, two men and a woman, all property dealers, by promising to double their money through a ritual. The cash was kept in the car. As part of the ritual, he fed them poisoned laddoos. By the time the car reached the flyover, they had begun to deteriorate. They stopped the vehicle, tried to understand what was happening, and died soon after. The tantrik walked away.

Ordinary crime scene. Such things happen every day. What is truly outrageous is that the same Kariumddin has killed three more people earlier in two separate incidents, one in UP and another in Rajasthan, and was out on bail in both cases.

I’m sure that based on his age (79) and the fact that he prays a lot, he’ll get bail here too and will be back to his usual self. What a toothless justice system we have.

This is the end of the nationalist cinema era. The catastrophic butterfly effect of this video is already unfolding even before its release. Studios are panicking, directors are hiding, actors are reassessing their life choices.

One of the most sugar-coated yet vile propagandists on Twitter.

The Red Fort blast motive wasn’t some cry for better infra, or cleaner air, it was a jihadi terror attack, executed purely out of religious fanaticism.

And if this woman truly cared about compassion and humanity, she would’ve called those terrorists “sick souls” for killing innocent people and tarnishing her own religion’s name. But of course, she won’t. She never does.

Instead, she’ll direct her outrage at those who dare question the religious radicalism driving such attacks. She’s still living early-2000s, assuming people will fall for such cheap emotional blackmail. Sorry, that era of guilt-tripping is long over.
