The Iranian #Bahai community has suffered extensive mistreatment and persecution, @HRW declared it a crime against humanity. 41 years ago, today 10 women were hanged for being Baha’is. We honor the resilience of the Iranian women and say #OurStoryIsOne https://t.co/wA0pR3uyTt

Collage titled “Freedom Soaring”, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the execution of 10 Bahá’í women. The background are pages from the book Zahra’s Paradise, a graphic novel about Iran. At the back of the book the authors include the names of 16,901 Iranians, including Bahá’í, executed, shot in demonstrations or assassinated between 1979 and 2009. On the wings of the bird are inscribed the names of the ten women of Shiraz as well as other Baha’i women killed for their beliefs as documented in Mahmehr Golestaneh’s book A Tribute to the Faithful published by her in 1992.

The #Bahai delegation to #CSW #CSW2023 will join today’s observance of #8MarchWomensDay #InternationalWomenDay at the @UN General Assembly hall in New York. Women and men are two wings of one bird: only when both wings are strong can humanity’s true and united future take flight.
