I would highly recommend that @andyburnham and @wesstreeting read Gen Smedley D. Butler's book, 'WAR IS A RACKET' and use it as a blueprint for the UK's defence policy. Gen Butler made three key recommendations:

1. Remove the profit motive from war by conscripting capital.
2. Hold a referendum limited to the young people of military service age to determine whether the country should go to war.
3. Restrict the army, naval and airforce operations to patrolling the British coastline.

Give peace a chance Andy by ending Britain's support for NATO's proxy war against Russia, stop Britain's complicity in genocide by halting arms sales to Israel, and demand that Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu end their illegal war against Iran.
