SEPTEMBER COMPANY TRAINING
Tonight, 43 Susquehanna Hose Company members attended September Company Training, focusing on Stabilization & Vehicle Rescue.
We were especially excited to have 9 new recruits participate in tonightโs training. These members gained valuable hands-on knowledge and operational skills that will allow them to make an immediate impact on emergency calls.
Training like this ensures our members are prepared to safely and effectively serve our community when the call comes in.
Thank you to all of our members who continue to dedicate their time to training and improving their skills!

Today, Quint 55 and Chief 5 are providing coverage for Level Volunteer Fire Company as their members attend the funeral services for Marvin Clayton Jackson, Sr.
Mr. Jackson dedicated many years of service to the fire and emergency services community. He served as a chaplain and was actively involved with the Harford-Cecil Volunteer Firemenโs Association, Cecil County Firemenโs Association, Cecil County Department of Emergency Services, and the Maryland State Firemenโs Association (MSFA).
Through his years of service and involvement with these organizations, Marvin formed many lasting friendships while faithfully serving others and his community.
We ask that you please keep the Jackson family, as well as Marvinโs friends and fellow members of the fire and emergency services community, in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Susquehanna Hose Company members and guests gathered at Division 5 this morning for the dedication and housing ceremony of Quint 55.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who joined us to celebrate this important milestone and the placing in service of our newest apparatus.
Weโre proud to add Quint 55 to our fleet and look forward to the enhanced capabilities it will provide to our members and the communities we serve.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible!
The Susquehanna Hose Company is proud to place Quint 55 in service at Division 5!
This new @EONE_FireTrucks Cyclone HR100 Aerial Ladder is powered by a 525 HP Cummins X12 engine and features a 100-foot heavy-duty aerial ladder with an electric pre-piped master stream waterway, a 1,500 GPM Hale QMAX midship pump, 480-gallon booster tank, 20 gallons of Class A foam, Onspot automatic tire chains, and a full complement of battery-powered HURST Rescue Tools.
Getting Quint 55 into service has been a tremendous team effort. 17 drivers have been cleared after completing 16 hours of training each, while an additional 13 non-drivers completed a six-hour skills checklist.
In total, our members logged more than 350 hours of training and an additional 150 hours of preparation work to meet our September 15 target date.
A massive thank you to Committee Chairman Sam Cubberley and committee members Neal Campbell, Steven Buchanan, Taylor Miller, James Miller, Craig Triplett, Don Graybeal, Chad Myers, Brian Remines, and Alex Cardwell for their countless hours of work helping bring this project to completion.
And to all of our members who put in the time to train, prepare, and get Quint 55 ready to respond โ excellent work!
Quint 55 represents another significant investment in the equipment, training, and capabilities of the Susquehanna Hose Company and the communities we serve.
Susquehanna Hose Company is proud to welcome back Mike Trimble, Travis Budnick & Ronald Fears (not pictured) as reinstated members of the company!
Weโre glad to have you back and look forward to having you once again serving alongside your fellow members and the community. Welcome back, gentlemen!
#SHCo crews are on scene of a rollover crash, southbound I-95 just south of Exit 89. Command reporting no entrapment and EMS is evaluating three patients.
Today, the Susquehanna Hose Company remembers September 11, 2001, and the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost that day.
We honor the 343 firefighters, 60 law enforcement officers, and all of the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice while running toward danger to save others.
We also remember the thousands of first responders, recovery workers, and survivors who have passed away in the years since 9/11 from illnesses and health complications connected to their service and exposure at Ground Zero. Their names may not have been counted among those lost that day, but their sacrifice is no less significant, and their service will never be forgotten.
Twenty-five years later, the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of those who responded that day โ and those who continued to suffer in the years that followed โ remain an enduring reminder of what it means to serve.
We remember the victims.
We honor the heroes.
We remember those we have lost since.
We stand with their families and loved ones.
September 11, 2001 โ 25 years later, we will NEVER forget.
With Quint 55 set to go in service later this month, our members continued hands-on training last night to ensure our crews are ready when the new apparatus officially goes in service.
Drivers worked on aerial operations and getting familiar with the capabilities of the new rig, while members practiced pulling lines, and becoming familiar with the apparatus.
Thereโs a lot that goes into putting a new piece of apparatus in service, and our members are putting in the time now to make sure Quint 55 and its crew are ready to answer the call.
#SHCo crews are currently on scene of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Pulaski Highway and Old Post Road.
Please avoid the area and allow emergency crews room to safely operate.
The Susquehanna Hose Company is proud to partner with Advanced Radiology to provide our members with access to important health screenings, including CT Calcium Scoring and 3D Screening Mammography.
We are incredibly thankful to Advanced Radiology for supporting our members and recognizing the importance of taking care of those who dedicate their time to serving our community. This is another great benefit of being a member of the Susquehanna Hose Company!
