Most people judge clothes on Temu by the photos.
Big mistake.
The fastest way to avoid buying clothes that feel like cheap plastic is to ignore the pictures and read the Fabric Composition.
Here's a simple cheat sheet:
Avoid (unless blended well)
• 100% Polyester
• 95% Polyester, 5% Spandex
• Cheap synthetic blends
Run away.
These are usually thin, shiny, trap heat, build static, and often feel like swimwear instead of actual clothing.
Look for
• Modal (extremely soft)
• Combed Cotton
• Ring-Spun Cotton
• 100% Cotton
• Viscose/Rayon (soft and smooth)
If you're shopping for specific items:
Jeans:
Search "100% Cotton Denim", "Heavyweight Denim", or "Rigid Denim".
Dress shirts:
Search "Oxford Cotton", "Cotton Poplin", or "100% Cotton Dress Shirt".
Jackets:
Search "Heavyweight", "Fleece Lined", or "Wool Blend".
Vintage clothes:
Look for Corduroy, Heavy Knit, or Washed Cotton.
One last trick that saves me money every time:
Never trust the product photos.
Go straight to the reviews, filter by "With Photos", and look at pictures uploaded by real buyers. That's where you'll see what the fabric actually looks and feels like.
Also look out for promos, you can get stuff for cheap and free packages for a cheap price.
Hope this helps once you understand your size, body, texture or material you're good.
Whilst we wait for the ICAN results, I don’t know which ICAN candidate needs to hear this but if it applies to you, take it seriously.
Learn Double Entry.
The major reason you have issues with courses like FR and SBR is because you don’t really know double entry.
Learn Double Entry.
Don’t be ashamed. Yes, you have an accounting degree. Yes, double entry was a 100L topic. Yes, you’ll feel like you’ve been a fraud all these while for not even knowing the fundamentals.
There’s nothing to lose or be ashamed of when you are seeking knowledge.
You know why you hate accounting standards? And prefer stuffs like statement of cashflows?
It’s because questions on accounting standards will ask you to tell how the transaction will be treated. You’ll end up doing guess work. You might get it right not because you truly know it. It’s because you’ve memorized many questions and answers such that what you’re doing in the exam hall is pattern recognition.
You have always treated accounting like mathematics.
“Anywhere I see revaluation surplus at the acquisition date I will add it to the net assets acquired”
“Anywhere I see intra-group sales , I will deduct the unrealized profit from inventory”
You don’t know why you are even doing these things, you’ve just memorized them like a formula.
Things get complicated when the examiner decides to change the pattern you’ve already memorized.
Whenever IAS 8 is examined as full question, the results usually not impressive because you can’t CORRECT something when you don’t even know how it was supposed to be.
It’s heart breaking to see an SBR student struggling with journalizing.
Learn Double Entry.
Once you crack it, you’re king.
Over time, I’ve offered to give students classes on double entry or ask them to watch videos. At first they’ll feel like they are being demoted. But when they start, they’ll realize they never knew the thing.
If you ONLY think of “receiver” and “giver” when you want to make entries, you need to learn.
There is a proven scientific method to lose belly fat and I trust it completely because it worked for me.
I've had an annoying lower belly pooch for most of my adult life, even when I was at my thinnest. I fixed it!
You just need to put in the work and be disciplined.
This is factual. I’ll always tell people I jumped industries from Reddit alone. They will show you how to interview, upgrade that resume, and tell you where to apply. They have job boards on there.
If you're my active follower or mutual and you get scammed by iPhone vendors, I'll personally come and arrest you for getting scammed.
So many things are just wrong in this situation.
Why will a vendor tell you he has a brand new iPhone 14 and you'll believe just like that?
Also, why will you see an LL/A iPhone 14 with physical SIM, and you'll still buy it?
Lol.
I've said this before.
♦️ There's hardly any brand new iPhone 14 series again. And this absolutely includes the 13 series downwards (no brand new ones again, apart from rare old stocks).
If a vendor tells you otherwise, they just want to give you a repackaged iPhone. It doesn't mean the phone won't work, but they'll be selling a used phone to you for the price of a new one.
▫️🔻To confirm if your iPhone is truly brand new, go to the official Apple Coverage website in the screenshot I shared below.
Then scroll down and type in the serial number you'll find on the box. If it says the phone is activated, then it's not truly brand new.
Note that some "smart" vendors might even swap the box.
So, to be double-safe, you'll have to turn on the phone and confirm that the IMEI of the phone is the same as what's on the box.
Tell the vendor you'll like to turn on the phone just to check the IMEI on the setup page.
1. Turn on the iPhone.
2. On the first setup screen (where it says "Hello" in different languages), look at the bottom right corner.
3. Tap the small "i" icon (Information icon).
4. A screen will pop up instantly showing the phone's Serial Number and IMEI number.
5. Compare the Serial Number and IMEI from the screen to the ones on the box. If they match, then you can proceed to the Apple Coverage website.
If the seller refuses to let you turn on the phone, don't buy it.
♦️ Also, regarding American iPhones (LL/A), just know that it's not supposed to have physical SIM as long as it is the iPhone 14 series upwards. It should have e-SIM only.
If an LL/A iPhone 14 series (or the later ones) comes with a physical SIM, it simply means it's been converted. And this may lead to hardware issues later.
I hope none of my followers and mutuals will ever fall for such scams.
Please share this for others to learn.
Bookmark for later also.
Stay sharp! 🪒
After eight month of using Chebe oil, I can now pack my hair into a bun 😭😭😭 I was walking around yesterday and I mistakenly touched the back of my hijab and was like. Wow! Is that actually my hair?
The vendor ran out of oil but I got the cream as restock
