These three teams are really Africa’s best chance at progressing deep into the World Cup.

Morocco have already shown they can do it. That semi-finals wasn’t a lucky run, they had elite organization, tactical discipline, and a squad filled with players competing at the highest level. They know what it takes to navigate knockout football, and that experience is priceless. Since then they have made AFCON Final, add more good players to their Squad.

Ivory Coast might have the most complete balance of talent and physicality. Across the pitch they have athleticism, technical quality, depth, and players capable of deciding games on their own. Imagine looking up and seeing Yan Diomande at the back, Franck Kessié , and then attackers like Simon Adingra, Amad Diallo, Nicolas Pepe. On paper, they have quality in every department and enough match-winners to hurt any nation. they can match power with power and quality with quality to some extent.

Senegal, meanwhile, have the profile of a team built for tournament football. Strong defensively, dangerous in transition, physically dominant, and packed with experienced internationals. If their key players stay fit, they have enough quality to compete with anyone over 90 minutes. Mendy, Koulibaly, Mane, Jackson, Gueye.

The challenge for African teams has never been talent. It’s consistency over seven games against the world’s elite. But if Africa is going to have another team making a quarter-final, semi-final, or even beyond, these are the three nations that look best equipped to carry that hope. The talent is there, the experience is there, and most importantly, the belief is there.
