Words 'piss off' are in widespread use as part of Australian language. The offensive words were 'back to Pakistan'. I would rather have an #immigrant as my neighbour than a white racist.
@MRobertsQLD No, we were rich because we exported things, in early years wool and wheat. It was said right up until 1960’s Australia rode on the sheep’s back. Then minerals were more important. Education another, one export you want to end, because it brings immigrants.
This is a huge win for allied health students that I've been pushing with @helenhainesindi.
We got this costed, brought students to parliament to talk about what it's like living in placement poverty & tabled a petition 43,000 of you signed.
This will help students AND help give Australians the allied health future workforce we desperately need. Congratulations to @JasonClareMP on this announcement.

Been at Church most Sundays for 94 years. In my early life #Churches had stature & respect in society. No longer. Their honesty & integrity is as low as the most greedy capitalist.
Catholic archdiocese to be paid before #ChristianBrothers victims https://t.co/JRtUqaQLZy
@EVERALDATLARGE There are a couple of problems with them. They are not big employers, can be remotely monitored. There will be jobs in construction. In cities they normally have diesel back up and can be noisy and pollluting, not suited populated areas. Need huge amounts water.
@Nuggetron85@EVERALDATLARGE Very much a matter of right and wrong. War involves death and slaughter, destruction and trauma. Killing is very much a wrong. For those with Judeo Christian faith, it’s one of the commandments. Thou Shalt Not Kill- totally unambiguous. Likely a tenet of other faiths too.
We wouldn’t be ok with our kids seeing three tobacco ads an hour, but this fed gov is fine with it being gambling ads. It is simply no justification to say media & sporting codes wouldn’t survive without them. Even if this was true, our kids are worth more than that. #auspol
I want to see videos of Sam Neill on my timeline for the rest of my life. Please don’t let this kindhearted soul fade away. He is who everyone should look up to, to be a better person & to help make the world a better place
We need more people like Sam
Bugger. He was a good man. A bit mad at times, but he cared and wanted to make things better. I liked him a lot, and I’m very sorry to see him go. https://t.co/FcVHdwwMmQ
Negative impact that #politicians worldwide have on practice of #democracy is at its lowest level in history. There is now universal lack of trust by voters in entire international political establishment. World now needs a new Abraham Lincoln. Desperately.
@EVERALDATLARGE I suspect the problem is that many of the right would have gone to the DLP, hard conservative people. Abbott, late Kevin Andrews would have fit there. People with traditional Liberal values such as Turnbull and his wife Lucy were Liberal. Lucy was daughter of Gorton’s Attorney G.
@EVERALDATLARGE@TheKouk You point out your Dad earned £3, AWOTE is now $2000 weekly. Times do change. Another measures might be Debt to GDP, we are doing much better than countries like US, UK and Japan.
@EVERALDATLARGE@TheKouk It is in relative terms, we are a 3 Trillion economy, analogous comparison may be a home loan of million against a 3 million home. Kouk pointed out that Frydenberg forecast was higher than that. The period has also seen Trumps War. Events happen. Whitlam got OPEC. Fraser drought.
@EVERALDATLARGE The reason is for the Senate. As you know most vote above the line. Even David Pocock for ACT has himself registered as David Pocock Party.
@EVERALDATLARGE He mentioned after retirement. Menzies retired in 1966. Everald would have been 34. His second term was from 1949. If Everald met him in that first year, 17 or 18.
