For those wondering where Lviv is, which Russia attacked with missiles tonight, killing at least 3 people and ruining dozens of apartments.
Almost as far from the frontline as Istanbul. And 70 km (approx 40 miles) to Poland.
Quick walk by Michael around the ring @esrfsynchrotron! Takes quite a while.
Awesome to be here again and undertake exciting XAS / XRD experiments at BM20!
@HZDR_Dresden @Svitlyk
@dr_michael_daub @ProfJuliaChan You can go up to 1000C when crystal is clamped in a tip of a quartz capillary with a smaller capillary. Moreover, if you do it in a glovebox you can have an inert atmosphere for your experiment.

@MicrotoPico It is a prototype material for securing #NuclearWaste☢️inspired by nature. Here increase in symmetry upon introduction of Y results in 20% enhancement in solubility of tetravalent actinides https://t.co/G2egiUKBFt
#ActinidesRevisited in Dresden is coming to a close! Many thanks to all contributors and participants for making this a great event! Here's a group picture to play "find your favorite actinide chemist"! @HZDR_Dresden #felements#realtimechem
3/3 We suggest in situ studies under extreme conditions of temperature and pressure as a part of standard protocol to validate phases of interest as host matrixes for radioactive elements for underground storage #NuclearWaste
1/3 Materials based on Y-stabilized ZrO2 ceramics can immobilize substantial amount of radiotoxic elements https://t.co/G2egiUK3PV Moreover, these phases exhibit excellent structural stability under extreme conditions of temperature and pressure https://t.co/SRROkpiFrM
