'By Jove! If ever there is a mutiny in the Army you'll see that these new-fangled Schoolmasters will be at the bottom of it' (Duke of Wellington, 1840s).
A remarkable article in Sunday Times on the Scottish curriculum.
When Scotland's Curriculum for Excellence was introduced in 2010, I was told repeatedly that its skills-based focus was superior to knowledge-rich approaches I & others supported.
13 years on & what do we see?
I have sat through a Court Martial for unacceptable sexual conduct. The SP was found “not guilty” - the first response from the 2 Pte’s was that they will never complain about something again. A year on, it’s the most heartbreaking sentence I’ve heard as a young, female Officer.
Our Sub-Committee Chair @robertcourts has written to the MOD to express our extreme disappointment at serving personnel being refused dispensation to contribute to our inquiry into service accommodation.

⭐️Request to ACF Volunteers⭐️
My dissertation is on the impact of role models in the ACF. Would appreciate the help of Volunteers/Instructors who can complete the survey and shares to other contacts! (Approved by Cadets Branch & Southampton University) https://t.co/Pr53gN5ahl 🙏🏻
EXCLUSIVE: White men seeking to join the @RoyalAirForce were described as "useless white male pilots" in leaked emails that expose the pressure placed on recruitment officers to improve diversity.

@headed_double @WilBaxte@Cookie2148 Luckily the role of "the LE" is changing as Castle progresses.
Even if your friend never used a full IRTB, I hope they used the analytical, communication, & influence skills demonstrated through it being assessed on their LECAB.
@Cookie2148@Mark1_1984 I believe it is deeply important that our top 10% are instructor jobs. 1) it takes that top 10% to recognise, encourage, mentor students of that calibre. 2) it creates a perpetual cycle of high quality trg in the Army. 3) would you rather be instructed by the bottom 10%?
There are 67 million people in the UK, and there are 200,000 people in the military, 20,000 of whom are women.
Of 67 million people, what are the chances that the best 200,000 candidates for the military would be 90% men? Pretty slim, I reckon.

With personnel taking critical information with them as they rotated out, the reconstruction effort essentially experienced an annual lobotomy as newly arriving staff made the same mistakes as their predecessors

@anon_opin An Officer friend of mine likes to play a game with soldiers where he compares postcodes on the National Crime database. He always wins 'roughest postcode' but I don't think what you mention registers on that database.
