Great work from Swans students in Years 7, 8 and 12 at the plastic pick-up with Plastic Free Seas Worldwide in Elviria on Saturday morning! Saving the planet one beach clean at a time! #plasticfreeseasworldwide
Beach clean this weekend! The meeting place is La Plage Cassanis, Golden Beach, Playa Real de Zaragoza, Elviria, at 10am on Saturday. This is a community event, not a supervised school trip, so students should bring friends or family to accompany them. And also bring gloves.
Record numbers of students reached and exceeded their #AcceleratedReader targets during the first half term of this academic year. Maybe this will be our best year yet! #SwansReads#SwansReaders
Well done to Octavia in Year 7 (Falcons) and Antonio in Year 10 (also Falcons) who were joint winners of the last Student Council House Photo Challenge of the year, of which the theme was NATURE. Their photos have such depth that they almost appear 3-dimensional. Well done!
Our first ever online Spelling Bee Grand Final was just as nail-biting and tense as always. And what a standard! It was almost impossible to knock our champion spellers out. But well done to Liz in Year 11 who was eventually victorious. #bookweek2021#swansbookweek
Book Swapping! Years 6-10 have been thoroughly enjoying swapping the books they've read for ones they haven't at our annual Book Week Book Swap. #swansbookweek#bookweek2021
Year 8 and Year 9's spelling bee year group finals took place yesterday. Very well done to the worthy winners! The grand final will take place on Friday. #swansbookweek#bookweek2021
Weather-wise, it wasn't a day for the faint of heart, but no less than twelve Swans students (Year 10s, 12s and 13s not pictured) turned out for the beach clean-up with #PlasticFreeSeasWorldwide on Saturday. We are so proud of them and so happy to support this great initiative.
@durham_uni We have a student awaiting confirmation of her fee status. She is a UK passport holder who has been living in Spain. We understand from government advice that she should have home fees, but she is currently being told she is international.
@ucas_online Please can you advise how we can change a student's name that has been accidentally misspelt on her UCAS form? Her offers have been received bearing the wrong name and this is causing issues now we are coming to apply for visas. Many thanks!
Very excited to do some book swapping in Book Week. These are all the books that have been brought in, and they are now quarantining, ready to be swapped next week. #SwansBookWeek#BookWeek#bookweek2021
Last half term, #swansstudentcouncil raised over €300 for #RifCom, by making and selling their own friendship bands. They hope to continue to add to this total over the coming months. Collaborating on shared projects is challenging at the moment, but more important than ever.
Friends Across the Water: For the past few months, Student Council have been lovingly making friendship bands, at home in their own time. On Friday, to celebrate Valentines Day, they will be selling them to students for just €2. All money goes to #RifCom.
