This morning, Delhi Police forcibly detained Sonam Wangchuk and Abhijit Dipke from the protest site at Jantar Mantar. This action deserves strong condemnation.

Instead of taking action against those responsible for the examination paper leak scandal that has jeopardized the future of millions of students, and holding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan accountable, the Modi government is attempting to suppress peaceful and democratic protests.

This authoritarian action demonstrates that the BJP government is determined to evade accountability. The abrupt removal of the Delhi Police Commissioner just before this incident is also seen as a clear example of the political misuse of the police administration.

In a shocking display of mob violence and hate-driven politics, 41 of our workers were brutally assaulted, leaving many with grievous injuries. Women workers were also subjected to molestation during the attack!

Despite the scale of the violence, the police administration failed to provide timely assistance. Our injured workers had to be shifted to SSKM Hospital with little to no support, while those entrusted with maintaining law and order stood by as mute spectators to the atrocities unleashed upon the Opposition.

Every act of violence, every injustice, and every attempt to silence democratic voices will be remembered.
