An article was published yesterday which asserted that billions of dollars of Gold was sold by the RBI and FX bought instead.
Very sad to see that the basic check was not done with the RBI before the Editors allowed a widely used wire service like Bloomberg to carry this misleading article which could be market moving and which was utterly fallacious.
The RBI has issued a rejoinder and cautioned investors.
Dear @TRAI,
Imagine your recharge plan is going to expire in 2 days.
Imagine someone is following your sister late at night, and she is trying to call you for help.
Imagine you are injured on the road and desperately trying to call a family member.
But before the call even connects, telecom companies play long warnings like “your plan is expiring soon, please recharge” in two languages. During this warning, the actual call does not connect, and valuable time gets wasted.
In emergency situations, even a few seconds matter. These repeated recharge reminders are extremely frustrating.
We already know when to recharge. Customers should not be forced to listen to long, nonsensical warnings.
Please order all telecom companies to immediately stop these nonsense warnings before calls, or allow the call to connect while the warning plays in the background.
Be serious.
Super move on the markets. I somehow find it incredible that we take statements at face value, from the same set of people that have lied to us for the last month.
Optimism is a good thing of course, let's hope it lasts.
A lesson for those parents who find brazenness and arrogance cute in little youngsters.
It is not adorable, it is blatantly mannerless and disrespectful !!
The irony was that he lost on a question of Ramcharitmanas in which Prabhu Ram epitomises humbleness, grace and humility being a King !!
The first time I applauded when a kid lost ....
In our own little ways, every citizen can support our frontline forces in these times.
1. Spread accurate information. And if you don't have any, stay silent. A few less What'sApp warriors hurt no one.
2. Be a good ambassador about the country our people risk their lives to defend. Say good things, do good things. This is the time to be united, not critical.
3. Follow the rules and uphold the discipline that our armed forces stand for. One person not following a rule makes life more difficult in already difficult times.
What do India & America have in common - a booming stock market & a fall in manufacturing capabilities !
Read @1shankarsharma in this well argued piece !
Worth your time.

There seems to be a clear shift in the way urban middle class is consuming in India
Traditional FMCG brands like Britannia, Nestle, Dabur are talking about a dip in urban consumption
Britannia in their analyst presentation yesterday said that the slowdown in urban consumption is led by metros
Infact metros have contributed 2.4X to the slowdown this quarter for Britannia which is alarming for any FMCG company
Nestle a couple of weeks ago said the middle class is shrinking
Dabur saw a profit drop of 18% in Q2 citing a squeeze in urban demand
the big question is this ...............
Is it that urban consumers are not eating as many biscuits because of inflation hitting their pockets and a slowdown in the economy OR is it that consumers have found healthier options and prefer to avoid palm oil , hydrogenated fat, high sugar content that was sold to them in the name of taste and health all along?
As shareholders in these stocks, perhaps one needs to sit up and take notice of the changing trends and reorient portfolio accordingly ?
Tbh, the stock prices do reflect this change, which could be a combination of inflation hitting pockets + consumers making healthier choices
Dabur is down 2% in last one year , Britannia is down 3% YTD while nestle is down 6% in the past one year
so Is there a genuine shift towards a healthier lifestyle across the urban middle class or are we generalising the patterns of a smaller subset ?

Early in your career, don’t chase the highest paycheck. Focus on roles that offer access to networks, training, and growth opportunities. Long-term value comes from what you learn, not just what you earn. #CareerAdvice
Attention, @IncomeTaxIndia , @nsitharaman
It's been more than 40 days since I filed I-T returns, but I have not received my refund yet. The website shows 'verified', but there is still so much delay.
I tried calling the help desk, but it never connected.
Plz look into this ASAP
Let me tell you that I have never been to Mumbai and am completely oblivious to this whole incident. As per the call, the parcel contained LSD too.
I request that you kindly look into this at the earliest and help me. It has been distressing.
