@ScottGillingham Green spaces are already severely threatened in this city by developers. An overall Master Greenspace Plan is still years away. Community involvement is extremely important to vital and supportive neighbourhoods but this plan will eliminate that. We need to reconsider this offer

The Herculaneum papyri are more than 1800 papyri scrolls that were carbonized by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius (79 CE), constituting the only surviving library from antiquity that exists in its entirety. Now using new x-ray techniques, these scrolls are being read for the first time in millennia.

The City of Winnipeg Council recently passed a 4 year budget. There will be $543,000 fully committed in 2023 for the City to undertake design and class 3 costing of renovations to the old Carnegie Library. This will allow the City of Winnipeg Archives to return to a secure home!
Almost there! The budget item to pay for $12.6 million renovations to the Carnegie Library building for the City of Winnipeg Archives is moving to the Executive Policy Committee next, then on to the full City Council for approval. We’re on our way!!
