@AmourDeVelo@AdamMyerson I raced Justin and his brother for 12 years and the entire peloton felt the same way about them year in and year out. Before Cash Call, during, and to this day, it’s consistent and unchanging. I’m surprised you’d defend riders with such terrible history (and present).
@AmourDeVelo@AdamMyerson I honestly couldn’t care less about the origin story of that team’s nickname. I believe it was his reputation and you don’t, and that’s ok because it’s petty and irrelevant. You mentioned that the entire team was incompetent and I simply wanted to say that that wasn’t the case.
@AmourDeVelo@AdamMyerson Guys like Magner are great sprinters. John Murphy and McCabe were great sprinters. The Williams brothers create dangerous situations to win parking lot crits because they’ll be dropped immediately in any real bike race. That will always be my opinion.
@AdamMyerson This also isn’t a single incident, it’s one of hundreds. That consistency to be dangerous when unnecessary got old, and I don’t believe it ever had to do with race. At one point the entire field named their team “Crash Call” and simply avoided riding near them. It’s ridiculous.
@AdamMyerson I’m not entirely sure what their motivation would be for forcing themselves through non-existent gaps in a mountainous road race with 80 miles to go. I’m not sure if I much care, since the result almost always caused injury to the riders behind them.
@AdamMyerson Your list of riders took risks to win, which of course is necessary. Justin and Corey put the entire field at risk at all times, even when they can’t win, because they think it’s funny. I believe that’s why they received the reputation that they now have.
@AdamMyerson Bahati pushed the envelope when necessary and did it with panache. Williams bros have always been dangerous. I remember them causing crashes at the “mountain” stage of Joe Martin after the break was gone. Everyone yelled at them, and they got dropped on the climb as expected.
@RobinmCarpenter Use hay. One bale will last you a long time. Spread it out nice and thick, then make little holes with your hands for planting. You can till it into the soil once per year and put down a fresh layer. Good luck 👍
@andrewtalansky@Max_Jenkins@TMBEquator@RKilun Dude you have to get a long list of vaccines as a kid just to attend school. It’s literally PUBLIC health. It’s not entirely private when it concerns the health and safety of those around you.
@andrewtalansky@Max_Jenkins@TMBEquator@RKilun If your choice only effected you then have at it. Totally fine. But without herd immunity the vaccine won’t eradicate the virus as quickly. That effects my at-risk 4yr old who is too young for vaccination. So yes, I don’t accept it, because it’s an ignorant and selfish viewpoint.
@Max_Jenkins@TMBEquator@andrewtalansky@RKilun Andrew, I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on helmets. Was the UCI’s decision to require them a tyrannical restriction of freedom? They’re not 100% effective against head injury, so why bother to mitigate risk? Over-regulation is terrible, but under-regulation is arguably worse
@andrewtalansky Your thought process would be similar to someone refusing to wear a seatbelt. It’s not 100% effective in preventing death in a car crash, so why even bother with risk mitigation? My daughter is directly impacted by that thinking and I tend to take it personally.
@andrewtalansky Yes, vaccines are rarely 100% effective. Smallpox, the only infectious disease declared eradicated by WHO, had lesser vaccine effectiveness than Covid. When more people are vaccinated it reduces transmissibility and can eradicate a virus. This herd immunity is crucial to results.
@waynenj7@WorldWide2323 @dayk88 @DilksJay@jimcramer@SaraEisen@WilfredFrost A company trading at a PE ratio of 50-100 could be considered growth. Most large cap value stocks may be in the 10-30 range. Tesla at 668 is beyond laughable, and the risk to the downside should be too enormous for anyone but the most pure gamblers. Bryan is right.
@realDonaldTrump Reminds me of when my 6 year old looks at our Christmas tree and says “this is the tallest tree ever!” Your tiny perspective is statistically irrelevant, as you are about to be.
