Amazing job opportunity for a reporter interested in covering one of the most dynamic state capitals in the US. Albany is a cool city, close to the Catskills, the Adirondacks, NYC, etc. You'll work with amazing journalists statewide, lots of opportunities for national work. 🗣️

Sad to file this story today. In encounters with humans, bears ALWAYS lose. If you are going to camp, learn the proper protocols for food handling, storage, and disposal.
Mother Bear and Cubs Euthanized After Aggressive Behavior at Adirondack Campsite
A mother bear and her two cubs were euthanized on Sunday after displaying aggressive behavior at a campsite in the Adirondacks, according to state officials. The bears had accessed food and garbage, which led to their increasingly dangerous actions, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) reported.
A state conservation police officer euthanized the bears due to the escalating aggression and the fact that they had come to associate humans with food. The DEC noted that relocating the bears was not an option under these circumstances.
It is illegal to feed bears, whether intentionally or unintentionally, in New York, and such encounters often result in negative outcomes for the animals.

📈 In a recent survey of school principals by @NBCNewYork, 87% surveyed say that smartphones are making kids distracted and tired; 74% say they are making kids more depressed, anxious or lonely; and 85% say that smartphones are amplifying student conflict and/or bullying. These numbers should be a concern to every parent, educator, and policy maker. @NYSUT@SAANYS@NYSchoolSupts@nyschoolboards@NYSPTA
