HAS THE NPA BEEN CAPTURED? SOUTH AFRICA DESERVES THE TRUTH ABOUT THE BUSHIRI PROSECUTION CARTEL

Just came across this article about the corruption in the NPA.

South Africans deserve answers. The President, the Minister of Justice, the National Prosecuting Authority and the legal profession cannot remain silent when serious allegations of prosecutorial misconduct, abuse of process and selective justice are being raised in connection with the Bushiri matter.

Serious questions have been raised about Advocate Desire Rosenblatt. She is alleged to have targeted one of the accused in the case, and worse, she been reported for series of misconducts. Her role in the Bushiri-related prosecutions, especially after the failure to extradite Bushiri has been questionable.

The case has already collapsed after they failed to extradite Bushiri, and some of the central actors have been removed. The Zambian Presidential candidate (Willah Mudolo) and has family are being politically targeted, to be made the fall guy for the NPA to save face. Desire Rosenblatt and the prosecution team are leading that charge.

Public reports and SAFLII documents confirm that Rosenblatt has been reported for criminal and gross misconduct, including falsifying statements.

The public was told to trust the justice system. But what happens when the very institution entrusted to prosecute without fear, favour or prejudice appears to protect its own?

President Cyril Ramaphosa must act. The Justice Minister must be directed to ensure that Adv. Marika Jansen van Vuuren, Adv. Nicolette Bell, Adv. Sibongile Mzinyathi and Adv. Desire Rosenblatt account fully and publicly for their alleged roles in the Bushiri matter.

The Madlanga Commission exists because South Africans are demanding truth about corruption and criminal justice capture. Why have these allegations not been placed before that Commission? Why are those accused of shielding misconduct not being questioned?
