Nintendo Japan announced that due to incidences of scalping regarding the multi-language version Nintendo Switch 2, they are temporarily suspending sales and have now placed restrictions on who can buy it on the Nintendo JP Store.

Only those with 50 or more hours of playtime on the Nintendo Switch 1 as of May 31, 2026 can buy a multi-language version Nintendo Switch 2 on the Nintendo JP Store.

The Japanese language only version Nintendo Switch 2 remains unaffected by any restrictions.
