The @UN has defined the focus of #WorldWaterDay2021 as what water means to people and how it can be better protected and valued. SWRF strives to promote both #cleanwatertechnologies & #renewableenergy solutions for water betterment globally through its respective programs. #SDG6
Season greetings from the @idadesal team and @SwrfWater! We thank you for your continued dedication and we are grateful for your support of the association efforts to create a better, and more sustainable world.
Warm holiday wishes to you and your loved ones!
“Water is a precondition to life on Earth and is essential for sustainable development. Safe #drinkingwater & #sanitation are human rights. Water is critical for socioeconomic development, food security and healthy ecosystems" (Climate Change and Water UN-Water Policy Brief).
On 7th April “The EU Council adopted by written procedure a regulation which will facilitate the use of treated urban waste water (reclaimed water) for agricultural irrigation” https://t.co/iWKAFFmF7p
IDA will discuss these new regulations at #IDAWRR2020 https://t.co/m3PMFeCFVI
The focus of #WorldWaterDay2020 is on water & climate change and how the two are inextricably linked. IDA advocates the development and use of #desalination & advanced #watertreatment solutions to lower costs, reduce energy requirements, and ensure environmental responsibility.
International human rights law obliges states to work towards achieving universal access to #water & #sanitation for all, without discrimination. IDA SWRF promotes creative solutions to the world’s most pressing #waterchallenges. Read more: https://t.co/YzVt3SQOt4
Water availability depends upon the amount of water physically available, & how it is stored, managed & allocated. IDA SWRF is committed to advancing knowledge in desalination & advanced water treatment & encouraging education in the industry that we serve https://t.co/nDCZtBuSAF
Alongside efforts to spread pioneering water solutions, the SWRF hosts a growing community of dedicated water engineers & technicians who volunteer their expertise for global betterment. For more info about how to join the effort as a volunteer or intern, contact [email protected]
IDA SWRF supports development through scholarship programs, competitive fellowships & internships which allow participants to work alongside the water industry leaders & gain practical experience that will enable them to become future leaders themselves https://t.co/0OCk2FOgIH
At IDA SWRF, we recognize that the greatest need for sustainable & forward-thinking water & energy solutions exists in developing countries. To meet the increasingly pressing needs of these nations, we hosts training programs & is implementing expert technical assistance programs
Today, 3 out of 10 people do not have access to safe #drinkingwater and 6 out of 10 people do not have access to safely managed sanitation services. The @UN, alongside the SWRF, prioritizes #cleanwater and #sanitation as one of the essential SDG. Read more https://t.co/802UnwO99O
Global water demand is expected to continue increasing at a similar rate until 2050, accounting for an increase of 20 to 30%. SWRF sponsors research and develop activities and projects relating to the production & use of non-conventional water. Read more: https://t.co/nDCZtBuSAF
SWRF promotes innovation by advocating clean energy & advanced water treatment solutions, fostering collaboration among professionals, & supporting educational programs and projects concerning the nexus of water, energy, food, & the environment. Read more: https://t.co/YzVt3SQOt4
SWRF considers “non-conventional water” to be water that becomes usable for agriculture, industrial, and/or human use through desalination or the advanced treatment of wastewater. Read more: https://t.co/nDCZtBuSAF
Safe #drinkingwater & #sanitation are recognized as basic human rights, as they are indispensable to sustaining healthy livelihoods and fundamental in maintaining the dignity of all human beings. IDA’s SWRF promotes creative solutions to the world’s most pressing water challenges
Season greetings from @idadesal & SWRF. As 2019 draws to a close, we thank you for being part of our community and your continued dedication to the IDA mission of connecting people and ideas to water solutions.
Our warmest wishes for you and your loved ones this holiday season!
A wave-powered desalination company Wave2OTM, is a finalist of MIT Solve Challenge. They've developed a revolutionary desalination-renewable energy system that could provide a low cost & low C02 clean water solution to island nations & developing countries https://t.co/68xw0nPu0x
Tracking the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 9 reveals that because of strong rising interest in energy alternatives, the possible total employment for renewables by 2030 is 20 million jobs. The best suited renewable technologies for desalination are solar, wind and geothermal.
According to the International Resource Panel (IRP) of @UNEP, severe water stress will affect half the world’s population by 2030. SWRF’s mission is to combat this prediction and better tackle the world’s growing water needs. To learn more, please visit: https://t.co/nDCZtBuSAF
