If the Sabres pull out a win down at Chatham tomorrow, they will be crowned regular season champs. Impressive feat, but no where near reaching our ultimate season goals.
Sabres with a 58-44 win over the Southeastern Cardinals. It was ugly, but everyone contributed and we fought hard during the physical and chippy contest. Sabres led by Noah Wright who had 21 points and 9 rebounds. Luke Webber also had a monster double-double. 10 points and 10rebs
Big weekend for us, traveling to Wilmington today to face conference foe, Southeastern Cardinals. Tomorrow, the Sabres travel to Chatham to face a tough Thunder team, whoβs a huge conference rival. 2 Ws this weekend leaves us one win away from being regular season champions!
5β10 Freshman Shooting Guard Hampton Dixon will light you up! He is an incredible shooter and has the highest 3pt% on the team at 43%. He also has a deep skillset offensively. In his best game of the season so far, he scored 26p (7-13 from 3), grabbed 8r, and had 4a.
5β7 8th Grade Shooting Guard Taylor Wright is a aggressive defender with good 3pt range. Sacrifices his body for the team, knocks down open shots, and has a great understanding of all our schemes. In his best game of the year so far, he scored 10 points on 4/5 FG against Durham.
5β11 Freshman Wing Andrew Walters is the ultimate teammate. He plays his heart out defensively, is unselfish on offense, and plays way bigger than he really is. On top of his basketball abilities, Andrew is an incredibly gifted teammate as he is always encouraging someone.
5β7 8th Grade Point Guard Marcus Webb is one of the most unselfish players on the team. He has great court vision, loves to facilitate, and is a great ball handler. He is also a tenacious defender and can knock down open jumpers! Led the team in a win vs. Lighthouse w/ 14p and 7a
5β10 8th Grade Combo Guard Lawson Jurgens is an absolute gamer. He refuses to lose and never backs down from anyone. Attacks the rim strong, can knock down open shots, and is an elite defender and energy guy. 5.2 PPG, 2.2 RPG, 1.4 APG
6β4 Sophomore Forward Nate Brueggeman is the most physical defensive rebounder on the team. Nate plays fantastic defense, rebounds strong, and fights for good position. Tallied a season high 7 points and 9 boards during a conference win against Durham Flight.
6β6 Sophomore Center Luke Webber is a dominating force in the paint for the Sabres. He is strong, has a soft touch, and rebounds well. He brings a lot of intensity on the court and is a great teammate. 4.0 PPG and 3.1 RPG
5β8 Freshman Point/Shooting Guard Eli Jones is constantly impacting the game with winning plays. He sacrifices his body, has great court vision + IQ, and knocks down shots from deep. He also plays his heart out and keeps his head up no matter the circumstance. 3.1 PPG and 2.1APG
5β10 Sophomore Guard Will Dixon is glue guy that makes the Sabres run. He is one of our best on ball defenders, has an extremely high motor, and rebounds phenomenally for his size. He also has a smooth stroke and is explosive around the basket. 5.2 PPG, 4.0 RPG, and 1.5 SPG
Tyler Woolard is a 6β2 Freshman Stretch 4 that has amazing feel. Can quietly drop a double double and is our second leading scorer and leading rebounder. Runs the court better than anyone in the conference, great touch around the rim, and rebounds extremely well. 10.6 PPG/6.1 RPG
6β2 Freshman Khy Ragland is an absolute difference maker for us. He is athletic, has incredibly long arms, and tons of raw talent. Khy is a special player thatβs capable of guarding the best player, scoring the most points, and leading the team in rebounds. 8.1 PPG and 3.8 RPG
The energy catalyst for the Sabres is 6β3 Freshman Wing Avery Lubenco. Avery is an elite communicator, has a high motor, and is extremely strong around the basket. His outside shot is constantly improving. Heβs averaging 9.9PPG, 5.1RPG, 1.3APG, and 1.7SPG.
Sabres are led by Captain 6β1 Freshman Point Guard Noah Wright, who leads the team in scoring, assists, and steals with 13.1 PPG, 3.9 APG, and 1.9 SPG. He also grabs 5.3 RPG. Heβs a high IQ, tough, lanky guard with court vision who can shoot, attack the basket, and guard 1-4.
Sabres have had a great season so far, starting the year 15-6 (7-1 in conference). Our first conference loss of the year came on Monday, losing 61-60 to New Life. Despite being short 5 guys by the end of the game, we competed our hearts out and had a chance at the buzzer.
