Dawn was quite rightly excited to spot this fantastic example of an Elephant Hawk-moth caterpillar on its preferred food plant, Rosebay Willowherb, at Dunhog Moss. It pays to keep an eye out for the small things...or not so small in this case!! Well done Dawn. @ScotWildlife

Yesterday evening, we had our first official walk of the year at The Haining in Selkirk. Led by local naturalist, Eric Middleton, we learned all about the flora and fauna of the area. @ScotWildlife @Dr_EcoShelly

The temperature is soaring! Please remember to offer shallow bowls of water for hedgehogs and other wildlife, it can literally save a life! Pop a few pebbles in to make sure insects can escape. 🦔 🥤
