For no reason in particular, I just want to say that Danny McBride should be the only person to play Dash Rendar if the character ever makes the jump to the big screen.
@hearthywatcher@Earth936@RyanMattson_ Calling it 'revisionism' isn't an argument. You stopped making those a while ago.
Look, we've all made our case. People can read the thread and decide for themselves.
@hearthywatcher@Earth936@RyanMattson_ You people have convinced yourselves FFVII was Se7en with swords. It was always a story that mixed heavy themes with goofy anime nonsense, and that's exactly why it works. FFVII has always been equal parts existential crisis and cross-dressing, dolphin jumps and snowboarding.
@hearthywatcher@Earth936@RyanMattson_ And for the record, they don't need me defending them. Remake has sold over 8.7 million copies, Rebirth is reportedly selling well across PS5, PC and Switch 2, and FFVII remains one of Square Enix's flagship franchises. I think they'll survive your posts.
@hearthywatcher@Earth936@RyanMattson_ The irony is you're acting like the original creators need you to explain their vision while they're the ones making the remake. I'll trust them over your fanfiction.
I'll enjoy Part 3. You can keep insisting the people who made FFVII don't understand FFVII.
@hearthywatcher@Earth936@RyanMattson_ We'll be busy enjoying the game. You can keep doing the "Disney" routine under every FFVII post. Everyone has a hobby, I guess.
@hearthywatcher@Earth936@RyanMattson_ Luckily, I don't have stock in Square Enix, so their margins aren't my problem. FFVII is still one of their biggest brands, and honestly, I'm glad people with your read aren't anywhere the next entry.
@hearthywatcher@Earth936@RyanMattson_ You can argue with reality all you want. SE isn't redoing Remake because a few people on the internet keep saying "Disney."
@hearthywatcher@Earth936@RyanMattson_ You're arguing against your own headcanon of the OG, not the game that was actually released in 1997. The funniest part is that your entire argument depends on pretending the OG was far grittier than it ever actually was.
@hearthywatcher@Earth936@RyanMattson_ The OG never portrays Avalanche as "deeply flawed and arguably dangerous people who only become heroes out of necessity." They're eco-terrorists from the start, but they're also framed as sympathetic people fighting a corrupt corporation. Remake doesn't invent that.
@hearthywatcher@Earth936@RyanMattson_ They still knowingly bombed a reactor expecting casualties and accepted that risk. Shinra making the outcome even worse doesn't absolve Avalanche, but it also doesn't fundamentally sanitize them.
@hearthywatcher@Earth936@RyanMattson_ I'm not confusing anything. Whether Jessie believes Avalanche caused the explosion isn't the point I'm making. The fact that we're shown Shinra deliberately amplifying the blast doesn't change the morality of Avalanche or their commitment to the cause.
I have a PS5 that will most certainly become a GTAVI machine, that said:
1.- Final Fantasy VII Revelation
2.- Control Resonant
3.- Ocarina of Time Remake
4.- Persona 6
5.- Resident Evil Veronica
6.- The Witcher 4
7.- Wolverine
8.- The Last Ronin
9.- GoW Laufey
10.- Divinity
@hearthywatcher@Earth936@RyanMattson_ They literally don't know about the bomb not working in Reactor 1 and believe they caused the explosion. There's an entire new mission in Remake that serves to explore Jessie's motivation and commitment to the cause despite the damage they believe they did.
Look, its definitely shitty for Rockstar and T2 to go full digital with GTAVI. But, In a market where 80% of the consumer base buys digital and consoles don't even come with a dedicated disc reader, what exactly did people expect?
@Julius_Garfield Like there r people out there who haven’t touched Elden Ring mechanically who can school me on obscure facts and implications abt the world from built, but because I played 900 hours and they played 0 they’re less valid then me?? Idk man
