GG Alexander

Shouting into the wind, complaining about writing.

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

So anyway, time to query it again~~~~!

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

I can see why this book ruined people's days.

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

So basically I just wanted to tell you guys to never do this. Themes out themselves organically from coherent stories without author work.

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

So I tried to figure out the theme, got it wrong, and now have to find and delete all the bullshit extra stuff I put in because I was wrong.

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

So in previous drafts of Monster book I read writing advice about ensuring you have a Theme in your book and making it obvious.

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

Babe I'm flattered but I don't think you and I were meant to be

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

"Stories must be Happily Ever After or Happily for Now-" -INDEED - "And must contain absolutely NO rape, incest, bestiality-" A HA HA HA HA

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

Oh man I just tweet pitched on my main account and got faved by a US romance books publisher. I looked at their guidelines...

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

"Yeahhh so like the Agents book for 2016 said I do fantasy but, like, I only do fantasy for authors who have already, y'know, made it? hehe"

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

Agent website: *twirls hair round finger* "IDK, I'm cool with literally any kind of book as long as the writing is, y'know, perfect...?"

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

*downloads Scrivener and read tutorial* Ok, this makes sense *Imports WIP*
...BWAHHHHH??

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

Like it is so imperfect but god damn you are my little bit of imperfection and more of the world needs to see you.

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

"I'm going to be so productive today!" *spends entire morning re-reading first part of book I'm querying* "YES THIS COUNTS"

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

Day three of Just Fucking Making Myself Write. The excitement is coming back. I think I'm getting through the wall.

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

@generallucifer Thank you! Also I've got you a new fan in the new girl at work. Told her the lesbian story and she cracked up for 5 mins!

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

They take 3-6 months to respond after these open calls so I'll hopefully have forgotten about it by the time they let me know, ha ha.

[GG Alexander @Swylce]

@generallucifer Thanks dude! Fingers crossed my rejection is as nice as the others! :P
