After making 180+ software videos, I think {Persona callout} is the best hook for performance marketing.

Here's why.

1. It stops the scroll.

- If we show a human face close up
- or just name the specific details about the audience

-> much higher probability that exactly our intended audience will stop and watch.

2. It helps to narrow ad targeting.

if mostly our intended audience stops and watches, the alogs start showing it to more people like them. So, it's a scroll-stopper and a great filter at the same time.

3. It works well on landing pages.

It's quick, it's direct, and we get to the product part asap.

(exactly what a warm audience wants after clicking your ads or googling you. Not watching another [Problem] intro for 30s before getting to the actual product)

Also, it's a super flexible hook.

Some of the variations:

1. {PC} + [Problem]

“Are you a transactional lawyer, spending hours or even days reviewing legal contracts?” Meet XYZ..."

2. {PC} + [Dream outcome] - [Pain]

“Are you a financial audit firm, that wants to 2X audit speed, without Excel chaos and email ping-pong? Introducing XYZ..."

3. {PC} + [Dream outcome]

"You're a builder. You can turn ideas into products 20x faster than writing code"

Pro tip: usually in ads you're able to add text description above the video. Duplicate the persona callout hook there as well, for a stronger effect :)
