I missed the anniversary this year. Somehow. I’ve thought of her a lot recently, but I missed the date. It’s been 5 years and the families are still trying to get answers. 5 years. You are not forgotten, Stardust Sara.
It's been 2 years since a missile struck #PS752 and took the lives of the gentle, brilliant, and loving Sara Sadaat, her sister Saba, and their mother Shekoufeh.
Sara radiated kindness and I will honour her by trying to do the same.
I get nothing done because I’m thinking too hard about the concept of sovereignty, or the difference in US and Canadian identity and how ours is awkward because it highlights genocide, or how I could only go on talk shows with strong interviewers because of my tendency to ramble.
I’m wearing wide leg high waisted pants with quite the zipper on them. It wasn’t until I was almost at my car that I noticed my fly was down for the last hour of my workday and the windy walk from the office to my car with half the population out.
Overheard at the office:
“Yeah, I’ve flushed a few goldfish in my day. That’s just what you do. I think they were all dead. I wonder why not the garbage? Maybe it’s because they’re wet.” 😂😂
@Chatter10366270@ClaudetteGGibs1 @MikeSington Probably. That’s not the word they used, though, if you’re trying to be pedantic.
Do you know what velociraptor means?
Just caught myself cleaning like a toddler. One-handed picking up a single object and wandering over to its destination. Slightly zeroing in but then just relaxing my hand and letting it drop. Going back for another object.
I giggled when I put something down and became aware.
I don’t know how you can decry the inhumanity of one entity only to retaliate with violence of the same gusto and call it justified.
I’ve long known existence was full of contradictions and paradoxes, but the sheer hypocrisy of violence will never cease to shake me.
My workplace has a gazillion hazard assessments and risk mitigation suggestions and one potential hazard is “violent confrontation with people on the street” and it brings me such joy that the 2nd (should be 1st) mitigation is “treat others with respect” 🥰
The downside to good neighbours is that you can never wear your horrible, unflattering, comfy clothes. The bell rings and you have 12 seconds to run upstairs to find a bra and pants bc panties and a tank top with a hole in the nipple area won’t work. Missed it this time 😔
@ThePellboy @liv_n_let_jedie @_nomadic_soul ..harassing a man on the basis of sex** it’s misandry. If they’re harassing a man for any other reason, they’re still just an asshole.
I really don’t think you’re mad at equal rights, love. There’s just some more learning for you (and all of us) to do in this space. ❤️
@ThePellboy @liv_n_let_jedie @_nomadic_soul I mean, Men’s Rights has developed out of other people misunderstanding the meaning of feminism, too, and advocating to stop the progress of equal rights. If they’re harassing women, you can probably believe them. If a woman is harassing a man, that’s misandry. Still not feminism
@ThePellboy @liv_n_let_jedie @_nomadic_soul They misunderstand feminism to excuse being misandrists the same way you’re excusing it so you can be mad at women. I think you’re actually mad at people being mean to you. Totally fair! But that has 0 to do with feminism and everything to do with people being assholes.
@ThePellboy @liv_n_let_jedie @_nomadic_soul No, kitten, that’s the definition! Don’t need to back it up. Shitty and good people misunderstand things all the time for personal gain. Heck, there are a whole lot of assholes out there who call themselves Christian while being anything but Christlike. Ain’t Jesus’ fault.
